Re: UPDATE Page 4: **SAFETY ALERT: Fuel Tank recall - Fuel Leaks & Other Issues"
Forgot to update this thread. Took the car to T W White & Sons in Bookham on the 7th December. Fuel pump recall and passenger airbag work was done and a shiny new MOT. Not had chance to fill the car yet so no idea if the car will leak or not but keeping my fingers crossed. Very nice team over there.

The only previous car I can remember the reg. no. for was my black XR3i, A881 PVL. Loved it's kinda crude, rough around the edges feel. Was super reliable all the years my dad and then me owned it.

Removed trackday wheels/tyres and decat in readiness for this months MOT.
Got a call from Mazda Saturday, the parts for the recall work that was scheduled for Monday haven't come in, so no trip to the dealers for me.

How much does that lardy GT86 weigh? would we need to charter a separate plane for that?

I like the idea of driving one way and flying one way. Driving through and camping in very remote place Would be fantastic.
Chris, don't you have some trackday funds left over from Covid 2020

Re: New RX9 engine
I can kinda see using the RX label for an all electric vehicle since the RX has been used for it's non-piston engines and electric motors do spin a bit like rotors.
A 6 pot engine? Is this not turning the RX9 into an MX5 limo?

Arrived at the hotel around 15:30. Showered and waiting for dinner time.
Great drive here through the countryside making the most of the sunshine. Andy's first drive of a rotary and learning to rev the thing. Bit different from his diesel.

Anything us newbies need to bring along. So far I have torque wrench to check wheel nuts. Socket set. Tyre pressure gauge and 2-stroke oil for cofs. Helmet I better add to that.
Swapped wheels over and was surprised how nice the 595's are on the road. Should be fantastic on the track.

I'm bringing my chair as I'll need to have somewhere comfy to sit as we are car sharing so I'll only be on track part of the time.
No email yet
But the final 2 tyres have turned up so off to get them fitted when I finish work at 15:00

I have been using ceramic beads in my bike tyres for years for balancing. Bit of a pain scooping them up to reuse them though.
I wonder if you could (temporarily) put water in a tyre to prove something was a balance problem
similar to these things.

Re: Brake Bleeding
Does anyone cycle the ABS module when bleeding brakes?
I use the Pela pump and have not needed anyone to pump the brakes while doing so.
I always remove the bleed nipple and smother in grease to prevent air being sucked down the threads.

Took delivery of 2 Federal 595's. Unfortunately car needs 4 so hoping the other 2 aren't far behind.
Also found out that taking car tyres off rims is way harder than bikes.](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Re: So my engine died today
I had a delivery of Millers from DT just last week, a few days after ordering.
I have used DT for many years and never had an issue.
Sucks when things do go wrong and the supplier doesn't pull their finger out to get things sorted though.

Re: Identifying/loosening alignment fixing nuts and bolts
sure you can, from experience all that will do is jack the car up :) Had the car like this for a week. Would lower it twice a day and get an air hammer on the bolt for 15 minutes. After a week I bought one of the Milwaukee saws and cut the thing off. Took maybe 10-15 minutes. Luckily I was not in a...
