Re: ^^^TRACKDAYS 2019^^^

Great day at Blyton yesterday. Mates RX8 went well, saw another RX8 R3 there going well and popping flames from his exhaust. D***POJ not sure if hes a member on here? An Integra had a roll and looks rather worse for wear. Both driver and passenger emerged ok though thankfully. I had pad wear and fla...

Re: Hey guys, looking for an r3

To be honest I don't pay a great deal of interest in service history if the condition is spot on. That is it looks straight , clean rust free etc. And certainly if its compression tested and accurate (ie you get them to do a fresh test for you) that would give me more peace of mind than what was don...

Re: It seemed like a good idea at the time...

lol... no I meant the floor finishes where the tail lift was but goes past the pivot point (triangle) into the front of the wagon and the car sits on the whole of the pivoting floor but in a flat position once its far enough in. In effect it would look like a normal wagon once car is loaded up and s...

Re: It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Just a thought, once you have cut the body etc to suit , how about a pivoting ramp inside the trailer (pivots where you have the triangle on your sketch) that as your car goes up into vehicle it tilts on the ramp until the front of the ramp sits down on the flat part of the front of the wagon ,hence...

Re: More brake porn - new brakes for the MX-5

Yeh Mazda do seem to create colours that stand out from the rest but it only seems to be noticeable when you are up close and look at the flecks in the paint. Thats when you can see it best. The brakes are great to be honest. We did a track day on the standard brakes when we first got the car and it...

Re: More brake porn - new brakes for the MX-5

Mine is the same colour. Looks great in the sunshine although mine does have a fair few stone chips. I went for the wildwood brakes when upgrading. I am after a nice rear spoiler but cant seem to find one I want that is fairly reasonable on price, as I think the back end looks a little long without ...

Re: After market alarm

I believe you can now get away with wiring the 240v mains to your car now.!!
Direct to your exhaust. See how they like that.
That would be my suggestion.

Re: Is an RX-8 right for me?

25 miles should see it warmed up properly Your budget should get you something fairly decent. Good compression is what you want ie, mid 6,s really or above. Bodywork is probably just as crucial. You don't want a rot box if you intend keeping it for a while. Good luck in your search. You may find a n...

Re: soggy rear arch liners

How about removing all crap and liners , stone chip painting as already said , and then may be using a thick roofing rubber sheet to form a new liner to reduce some of the noise from debris hitting the wheel arches? Or may be a spray on a thin type of waterproof foam like the stuff used in insulatio...
