that bearing has 'just' reached end of life, so the perfect time to replace it. I always use Loctite on the outside of a seal like this to lubricate it for fitting, with the added advantage of gluing it in once done.

For this job buying 5l of brake cleaner and a sprayer (wurth) is by far the cheapest way of cleaning up, rather than 100 cans of the stuff :)

thats... rather unusual.

id plan on changing the stationary bearing too.. i cant think of any other reason for such a early failure.

ive never met anyone who prefers the 5sp for a road car? its only upside is its stronger but at std power levels the 6spd is more than strong enough and it suits the rx8 much better...

i don't know off hand but the easiest way to find out would be to measure the length of a existing bolt and add on the thickness of the adapter.

um, did they refill it with PAG oil? you shouldn't just fit a compressor and recharge it, unless its new and comes filled.

Only a age limit on tyres fitted to the steer axle of hgv and buses. Not a mot testable item on any thing else.
