Re: How many left?

I don’t think the Rx8 will become a classic for at least another ten years, but I do think a good car will hold its value and maybe increase,so they are worth buying.just need to avoid the scrap.

Re: Import, not import?

I think one of the things that gets overlooked when buying an Rx8 is rear subframe,a car can look perfect from the up but the rear subframe can look like it has lived it’s life at the bottom of the sea. The bolts and suspension arms are expensive and it is difficult to get the old ones off,so an ali...

Re: Import, not import?

As already said there was little need to import, the RX8 was readily available and came with good spec, i.e all uk models had sports suspension etc as standard and plenty of spec. On top of that we got the likes of the PZ and R3, its very much more likely to see exported ones. It has already been s...

Re: Import, not import?

I think one of the problems with importing an rx 8 is the fact that they are under valued in the uk so importing then looks expensive,in fact a lot of good cars got exported to Europe.from the uk

Re: Would like to buy my first RX8

My advice is stay away from rusty ones as it will probably have bad rust on the rear subframe ,if all the bolts are seized up it will be an expensive night mere just to get the geometry done.
Good cars are out there don’t rush in to buying a money pit.
Good luck

Re: Citroen c3

Thanks for that link I am going to try that as it will be a good experience and a new skill ,the only cost if it doesn’t work is my time and that is free.
Would there be any benefit in fitting and torquing down while it is still hand hot.?

Re: Citroen c3

You don't see many pistons with the oil control rings below the gudgeon pin. These were often added to stop piston slap on the skirt and helped the engine run much quieter. I assume you staggered the ring gaps before dropping the pistons in. It does look strange the third ring down is the oil ring ...

Hello It has been a long time since I have posted on this car,the machine shop phoned on Wednesday saying the block was ready to collect, this only been two months but as he said classic cars have to wait for gaps in the work, not a problem for me. The block was drilled out to take m10 studs instead o...

This sounds a bit weird.
So any member can post on his thread and he has no right to reply because he is an ex member?
