Re: Scott's 5.7 ltr v8 ( rxv8 )

If it was stolen to order then not a lot you can do - immobilisers and alarms only go so far. GPS tracking can however be added for little money these days.... Or going back to the late 70's/80's when we had cars with none of these, my sisters deterrent usually meant you got the car back when it was...

Re: Living with a rotary - 3.5 Years in

Not all great
Checked cranking speed on odb and down to about 220 RPM definately not helping starts.

Also

Think it's going to need a new caliper as brakes still binding after longer run.

I know that feeling... Some time away from the car sometimes helps you think things through.

£25 ebay special so goodness knows how long it'll last.... But came with two batteries and charger. Seems okay but yet to see how it performs in anger. 3/8 drive and 60nm of torque allegedly. Used in anger today certainly okay on smaller bolts. Took off engine bay stabiliser bar nuts and upper inta...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I once drove my MG Midget with a new MG Midget wing in the passenger seat to deliver for my brother. (I think it with the top down on a summers evening) Unfortunately it wasn't till I'd left and got on the open road that I found I could only get half the gears as it was obstructing the gear lever - ...

I'm not entirely ruling out batteries in the fob as the one I used has been kicking about the car for at least 2 (probably 3) years.

I think i tried my spare and it was the same - so definitely suspect something on the car...

Other thing I seem to have noticed lately is radio quality is poor with rear demister on.

Re: Low compression and high fuel consumption

Someone else will likely give you advice regarding the lights but sounds like you have an issue in the braking system. Binding is the pads dragging against the brake disk surface. Go for a drive braking gently then when you stop check the temperatures on all wheels if anyone is hotter than the oppos...

Re: Low compression and high fuel consumption

9.5 MPG is bad assuming you are getting some open road driving If it is a lot of short journeys it will be really bad as runs really rich on cold start. Coils / plugs as suggested but also check brakes arent binding. For reference my 231 with 5.3 compression does about 17mpg on my short commute to w...

Re: Living with a rotary - 3 Years in

Quick question...
Anyone had problems with reduced range on their remote Key before.
I have changed battery and still the same.
Pretty much have to be on top of the car before it works.

I do have a body earth that I know needs cleaning could that be a possible cause?
