There is a discount code of MID60 with ECP currently which drops the price to £150 !!!!!!
Exactly! which worries me even more!

The CAT alone at traders cost to me when purchasing 25+ is more than that on mine!

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

The OEM is so expensive as it contains precious metals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium, the actual construction method I'm unsure of but the CORE is classed as heavy and has a 3L capacity which aids in its longevity.

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

My Mazda cat has just pipped 90k miles. I deleted the SAI pump about 40k miles ago and it has a small nick in the front of the monolith where a bit of apex seal escaped, but it operates perfectly and sails through the MOT without any special warming up. I think they are pretty good as long as the i...

Re: Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

I get the purpose of the 100 cel race cat. Pass race scrutineering and I'm sure it's light, looks and sounds great too. Trying to figure out where a 200 cel fits in. Haydn, Thats right mate, the 100 CEL is for track use, it may pass emissions but not something I could guarantee, its as close as you...

Ceramic CATS and CAT recommendations

Thought I would post this up for general discussion. A recent customer of ours has been recommended a Ceramic CAT for his car by another "Rotary Specialist" The CAT in question is at the link below: https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/724680060 Now I know my thoughts on these CATs, and they are shou...

Re: Verdict on use of Shell Helix HX8 ECT 5W-40 synthetic oil without a SOHN/COFS

For every day use it's probably equally if not more important to change the oil regularly than worry too much about the viscosity, which doesn't stay the same for long with the amount of shear wear a rotary creates. A 10w40 is starting from a higher rung of the ladder but will soon degrade as it's ...

Re: 192 vs 231 reliability

So I think I can add some value here :) so after 3 years of providing engines we are yet to have one fail (touch wood), now bearing in mind some of our builds are for purpose track cars, so while miles covered is low they do get a hard time and engine revolutions per mile is high! we now have engine...

Re: 192 vs 231 reliability

If I was rebuilding a 192 I'd definitely put 231 stationary bearings in. There isn't going to be a downside, and the 231 bearings are a clear upgrade. The small extra cost seems worth it. FYI for everyone - We only use 231 6 Port style bearings in all our builds regardless of whether its a 192 or 2...

Re: 192 vs 231 reliability

The primary killer of the 231 gearboxes is use of the wrong oil. The synchromesh in these boxes require GL-4 oils only, not GL-4/5 or GL-5. A few miles with the wrong oil and some damage is done, even if the correct oil is then fitted. We sell Motul 300 which is a GL4/5 oil, personally used for abo...

Only picked up my rx8 a couple of weeks back, just had a look today at the coils and think they are probably the originals (35k on the clock) so fancy changing them. Is it still possible to join this group buy?

Thank you all for coming on board with this GB, I now have everyone's details so thanks for that. I will be saving up again to get your red pulley set, cof system and then next April I will be back for a engine rebuild. [emoji16] Can you PM me your Nam...

SO guys quick update guys, I am currently Out of Stock on both the coils and MSD leads now, should only be a couple of weeks or so. If I could ask those who haven't settled up their invoice to do so and as soon as they come in I'll get them out. The coils are very popular so keeping stock can be pro...
