Re: Now I've got a SOHN adapter...

Shell helix 5w-40 Millers nanodrive 5w-40 Or Motul 300V 5w-30 would be my choice. Have used all three extensively with strips downs after. The engine used on nano drive was immaculate! And money no object my choice with a COFS/SOHN And a 6000 mile service interval instead of 3000 mile if I go down ...

Re: Tuning with oil filled maf and filter

You shouldn't have too many problems with the later revision of the sump, perhaps just an overfill on that occasion? There are other contributing factors for burping but I couldn't see anything obvious from your other posts, maybe just one of those....

Nice coils BTW :)

Re: Tuning with oil filled maf and filter

To what level are you filling the oil?

Also what sump do you have? we find the early OEM sumps to allow for burping, the later ones are better but not infallible.

Did you get it mapped again?

PSX_20210107_182846.jpg PSX_20210107_182941.jpg It is a beautiful solution but that horrible word, 'budget', has to rear its ugly head. I get that its rather expensive, although for what you get, that is all billet machined parts its actually very good value. Those US plastic tanks will not last fo...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I am currently playing with ideas for a SOHN/COF tank and don't want to lose the huge windscreen washer tank. My first thought was one type of motorcycle 2 stoke tank but the one I got was too wide at the bottom. I've had a good look at the 192 engine bay and the only decent place I can see to plac...

Re: Versatune vs Mazdaedit

I question I get asked alot: Mazdaedit has a better working interface and from a tuner perspective I prefer to use Mazdaedit, although both capabilities are the same. VersaTune has a much better customer experience, and now it is compatible with cheaper OBD tools such as OBDLink SX which makes it qu...

How much demand is there for those bottom plates?

They look very easy to manufacture and machine from Aluminium. Even with some improvements I'd be surprised if couldn't get something out the door for less than £250

A Street port to better a bridge?? Do tell Carl :)
I have the first in my car here; just waiting on a date to take it to revs for a dyno.

It definitely has a lot more lower down torque than a bridge, and up top pulls just as strong if not stronger. By far the best NA Rx8 I've driven. :)

How would that pricing look for a semi-pp build? 😁
We don't have firm pricing for that yet, the intake will be about £1250 but there are some savings on porting costs.. It will not be long until the first one is complete, its on the machine as we speak :)

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

That seems a lot for a standard rebuild, what extras are in that price? Spent a good probably 40 minutes on the phone today talking to RR today about all the different prices with breakdowns so £2,729.99 is the "Rotary Revs gold rebuild" with resurfaced housings £6,114.94 is the above but plus goop...

Re: After market alarm

The cat was cut off, but cut off after the flanges at either end, and they carefully unplugged the sensors rather than just ripping the wiring out. So the Mazda dealer said it appeared to be a steal-to-order job, as the cat and sensors had been taken in a fully reusable state. Have you had a simila...

Re: Maf reading high

I would say nothing to worry about, while my tuning normally results in a MAF close to stock, Revs may use the MAF and fuel tables only to achieve the same end result. The MAF scaling can be confirmed by ascertaining the MAF voltage you are hitting at that point and then comparing that to the G/S of...

Is there an R3 owner with logging facilities that could do a log of MOP_P_DSD (Electromagnetic metering oil pump system pressure desired) for me? Dave do you have access to the document which gives the detail of the oil pressure that the OCV sees?

I have pretty good idea of what I could do to bring out a kit for this so if there is enough interest it could happen! :)

It can be done:

- Block off and recycle sump feed.
-re-route feed to a 2t tank
-install a low pressure pump with a blow off feed back to the 2t tank.

We also had no end of issues with people sending kits to us for warranty work, us taking the time to test them only to find that they were fine and the issues were with the cars. I can sympathise with that statement, I too have this quite a lot which is now why I have this set up and 99% of the tim...
