Re: R3 + tall driver + helmet

Track days I've been to there were specific instructions about deliberate drifting getting you pulled off the track. They've also generally said that a crack open on the windows was okay as long as they were mostly closed, so an inch or two for air should be fine.

Re: New 8 owner and having some issues

Hi - I suspect the quickest and cheapest way to get started is to get hold of an OBD2 adapter and read the codes. Should be possible with a free phone app and a bluetooth OBD2 adapter (< £20) the codes for the CEL should point you in a direction, or post 'em up here and the great minds will be unabl...

175 miles on the other car, zero on the 8 (SORN) since March. Most of that mileage is probably weekly trips to support local brewery businesses and obtain essential beer supplies.

Welcome! Depending quite where in the south-west you are, there could well be a member or 2 nearby who might be keen to pass by and take a look or offer advice / assistance, if you wanted some.

Did Revs do any porting to the engine during the rebuild? Just wondering if that might extend a start slightly?

Re: Importing parts from the US

Was going to say it'll probably be around 23% of (parts plus postage cost), plus courier admin fee.(£10) I once bought something from the states, paid the supplier around $40 including postage. When it arrived I had to pay around £16 in fees and duty etc as they'd calculated it based on the value de...

Re: Alternative performance direct fit coils?

I've no idea what spec the original (I assume) coils were on my R3 before I swapped them at 28k - I probably still have the box with the old parts so I will check if I can lay my hands on them.

Re: Rx8 as a third car?

All that's been said so far. Don't drive it short distances - take it for 20 minutes or more to warm it up properly and it shouldn't flood. As for model, it's a bit of personal preference really. The R3 is newer so they tend to be in better condition, but there were only ever 800 in the country (now...
