Re: Pit project

Context is always key, and frequently missing from online discussions. Thanks for sharing - it's interesting to see and makes me consider what's beneath my garage floor... (don't mention it to the missus). Folks generally intend to be helpful but it's not always easy to avoid taking something as cri...

Re: RX54 My 231

I've been running 585s since 2017, with a remap since 2018 to March this year when I got the map removed and purchased some RRP Mk2 coils, though the car then went SORN shortly thereafter due to the lack of driving places for the last 7 months, so the coils are still waiting to get swapped over - no...

Re: RX54 My 231

The 585s should work fine without the remap so 'just dropping them in and seeing if it starts' is a reasonable test. You can get a remap to potentially get 'a bit more' out of them (longer charge window = stronger spark?) but it isn't vital, and would need to be unmapped if you changed to e.g. Mazda...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Hi John, You should have had a reminder email in March, and then another in July as we extended everyone's membership by three months due to the initial pandemic lockdown. It would have been to the email address you used to register and renew previously, not necessarily the one linked to your forum ...

Ouch!
Exactly. Hence I came looking here, and then spent some of the savings on club membership.

Re: How much dirt on spark plugs is normal?

What originally brought me to the club was looking for a source of replacement spark plugs as the local garage place that was doing my service and MOT that year had said that the recommendation was to change them at 30k (and the car had done 28k at that point) but they'd looked and were horrified th...

Re: Sucky, rattly noise, low RPM, under load?

<guessing> If the pump's working harder (for higher rev demand) it might shift the noise frequency, or only be there at a certain demand load? </guessing>

There are several club members in the Shropshire / Cheshire area as well - I'm sure there's opportunity for runs around North Wales once the current situation resolves and restrictions are lifted.

Re: ***TRACKDAY Donington GP Circuit - Friday 18th December £139***

My other half is on the 25th - now that makes for an expensive day, and difficult shopping when it's separate gifts. She's been pretty adamant that she doesn't want presents of a set of filters and fluids for either car!
Also, try and find birthday wrapping paper any time after halloween...

With the various issues we've seen reported from the S1 fuel tank recall, it's possible that some part of the sender has become detached from the tank?
