Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Took it out for another 30 minute run to support a local business and charge the battery a bit more. Now almost down to 1/4 tank of fuel left from the last fill on 15th March... Who says they drink a lot!

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Failed to start it at around 07:30 as the battery was pretty low (lights came on and it tried to turn over slowly first time, but then went click click click). Felt annoyed as it's a brand new battery and it's only a few days since it last went anywhere... With the immediate need to go places otherw...

Re: Low compression and high fuel consumption
It suggests the coolant is leaking into the combustion chambers and being expelled through the exhaust, which would require the engine to be stripped down and rebuilt with replacement parts. If you don't know whether it is losing coolant then first you should make sure all the fluids are properly to...

Re: Low compression and high fuel consumption
If it's using coolant and there's no pool of it under the car then that doesn't bode well for the engine.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Well this afternoon I - Made sure the new Varta E53 was fully charged - checked what the oil level said cold - gave it an extra half litre as it looked pretty low - checked the other fluids were at a reasonable level - checked the tyres had some pressure in them - swapped the dead battery for the ne...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
From an external perspective, my ideal cyclist lights were a system I saw in the early 00's - Static lights front and back on the bike itself (wide spread so they can be seen from the side) along with wheel reflectors, with flashing red rear light on the back of the helmet / backpack, AND a chest li...

Hi Freddie - thanks for joining. Hope you've got the car now and had some fun. You shouldn't need to go for a mini map with the R3 as it should already have the variable red line to stop you over-revving it when cold (though as New Duke said above, just give it 20 mins or so to warm up before trying...
