Re: Tyre changers and wheels balancers
Fitted the replacement tyre. While I was at it finally took a picture of the tyre changer and balancer. Still very impressed with them. Messy garage is messy. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/9f91mfhl7z3hm69emccv0/20240325_201244.JPG?rlkey=hjgbdoc567vbszhr5beji1txu&dl=1 https://www.dropbox.com/scl...

Re: Tyre changers and wheels balancers
Mini PSA for education that I thought I'd add here, didn't seem worth a new thread. Anyway, this week our Jaguar XF drove over a small screw. That itself not a problem and would be an easy repair, being just far enough from the edge. I've done many such plug and patch repairs now. https://www.dropbo...

Re: Lanoguard,Krown,or any?
That makes a lot of sense, great insight.
I realise that the question was months ago but just to confirm; Mazda did not use any tape/adhesive on the side skirts. Only clips. So if you see tape on there it was either done by the dealer (as above) or by someone else, no matter how tidy it looks.

And that's the short version of the updates! There's even more .
For some buyers I do think the S1 is the wise buy. As with all things, it depends. Welcome Jack, good luck with your search!

Re: RX8 Clicking Noise HELP PLEASE
When you took the belts off did you take the pulleys off as well to check their rear faces for impact marks? If not I'd do that before delving deeper. Just to rule it out.

Re: RX8 Clicking Noise HELP PLEASE
I once had an aftermarket pulley warp and strike the alternator as it spun, that made made a clicking sound under certain conditions. Wasn't visible until the pulley came off and we saw the impact marks that were hidden until then. It had been driving me mad trying to figure out it (had assumed the ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I keep getting P0661 code popping up but it rarely ever triggers the CEL, SSV is opening fine when tested by RR but it always appears if you go for a good burn or a track day then eventually triggers the CEL after so many times, normal every day driving the car is fine. Question is what's the best ...

Re: The KRS thread....
My 09 R3 still had B coils on it when I bought it in 2016. I'm surprised/impressed the ones in this car lasted this long... although I guess maybe they didn't! Yeah common for the rear rotor to go first, seems more so on the R3. Had an illuminating chat with bigpete about it a while ago and the like...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Negative post warning. I've not done ANYTHNG to it. Bit disappointed really as I fancied a tinker... it's just perfect. Started up today after weeks of sitting and fired up fine and ate up the local roads. Loads of power, setup is still splendid and a joy to drive and easily overtake anything local ...

If you haven't already it's worth popping a message over to Ryan Rotary Performance. They're active in the space and might be able to quote you for their own turbo kit to ship to you down under:

I'm in this weird emotional turmoil where I really want for you to do some bodywork/chassis restoration on my RX8. At the same time my car thankfully doesn't actually need any! It's bizarre

Really wish I could join you. Plus your covering more of my old stomping grounds. Oh the memories!
Have fun guys, if you actually park in Promenade Park, take it veeeeery gently over the speed bumps towards the exit

The Running Mare is a lovely pub, great choice! Sadly I'm still out until March due to work.
I'm bummed that I'll miss out on seeing the RX4 again!
Cheers,
Haydn

Re: How do you winter store your RX-8?
What is an issue, especially since the roll-out of E10 but even with E5, is that fuel these days goes "off" at a much faster rate, which complicates the entire picture. I find this with the fuel I store for the mowers. E10 being useless after 6 months* but E5 lasting well over a year. The...

Re: How do you winter store your RX-8?
I think that a well cared for RX8 is a great car to drive in the snow and ice compared to most family buses... but that's a different conversation. Just give it some rust protection and enjoy that sweetness all year round :race: Or if you really don't like driving it in winter. I would only slightly...

That was excellent. Sorry I had to bail out early. Very good to see everyone and thank you for all the organising Malcolm. Really good venues those were and going for a drive together was fun. I'd definitely hope for more of that. (I won't make the January or February ones, will be booked up with 17...

Re: Essex & Adjoining Counties Meet - SUNDAY, 10th December, 10am Brunch, Details in topic
Great planning Malcolm, thank you that's a lovely route. The Jam Factory cafe does indeed get long queues at peak times, it'll likely just be pot luck on the day how long the wait is. Super place though. Could I please suggest an amendment/extension to the end of the route? Through Birch, over the r...

Thanks for all of your research and booking it Malcolm, sorry for not replying sooner. Cheers for putting me on the confirmed list Nigel. Really looking forward to it.
I'm definitely up for a drive afterwards, I'll probably do one even if nobody else does

Going through pads at that rate makes me wonder what discs you're using. I've used plain Mintex and Pagid discs for the past 6 years . I found drilled/grooved discs work like a cheese grater. For my part the pad wear is because I can do 200 miles on track on a single day. I've got the setup to a po...
