Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

And then I need to clean the car after my jaunt up to BigPete earlier in the week. And Mrs Smutty has made it clear that I AM going to clean her mummy bus. Very rural and agricultural some of the journey there isn't it! Bigpete and I have the following ritual: 1: I spend lots of effort getting the ...

Re: New

Others may pop in with more advice. I would just suggest reading the owners manual carefully. There's a digital version in the Technical part of the members area if you don't have a physical one. I'd suggest checking the oil dipstick every other fuel fill up (as it says in the manual). I'd also sugg...

Re: Essex & Adjoining Counties Meet - FRIDAY ***TBA***

Sheeesh Gary. Hope all that gets sorted without too much hassle. I can't go anywhere that'll track and trace guys as I can't risk getting the phone call afterwards telling me to isolate for another 2 weeks. Got to protect what work there is left. But it's near the end of the drive so absolutely no c...

In general it's simpler if you just get into a routine of putting new plugs in as part of your annual service pre MOT. Along with that oil filter and airbox filter change etc...

Re: Happy 40th birthday Metro

I was bought one of these as a teen. It was the only car my parents ever bought me, and I never got to drive it. It was also bought for my older brother, who a couple of weeks later sent it into the back of another car. Those Metros were like cardboard and it became a pancake, unlike the first gen M...

Re: Once you go black.... (Condor's PZ)

Before you go taking bits apart Alan: I was convinced early this year that one of my arch gaps was 1cm different to the others, and was suspicious of the new PZ suspension (despite it being fitted by bigpete and having been setup by Fergus). I took the car to loads of places with flat surfaces, incl...

Re: Tyre Pressures

Leave the tyres at the standard pressures. We only really raise them by upto 10% for soft sidewall tyres, or lower them for track conditions. But you won't get them hot enough on the road to make any real difference, even on a very spirited summer drive. More likely to end up wrapped around a tree m...

Re: Door speaker sound proofing / deadening

I believe Skendread used dynamat, as have a few other owners that I know of, but the major issues are with components not fitting snugly and thus rattling... So perhaps start going round and replacing all the nylon panel clips and such as well. That's a good point. Part of the problem I'm sure is m...
