Re: RX8 Brake Pads

Just one word of warning when buying brake pads, many brands, such as Ferodo, Brembo & EBC are commonly faked. Some sellers of fake parts have now realised that "too cheap" is a bit of a give-away, so they're asking very nearly as much as legitimate sources. I've been very happy with the Pagid pads...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

Maybe you just got the temp worker Lee who was helping out on Customer Services for the day and hadn't completed their training... Emailing them the above from Warpc0il might help set them straight... on their own policy. ' The Rotary Revs Ignition Kit offers longer lasting durability and increased ...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

No, you've missed what's going on on this case and ( edit: gonna wind my neck in ). This this isn't the same as the RX7 dip, or the same as what happened recently with LC Rotary (which seems to have fallen on hard times and forgot their obligations in the process). RR is a relatively (for our commun...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

I'm going to temper my language given the recent LC Rotary debacle showed how blinkered some folks here are by 'loyalty'. Yeah in short your instincts are right, they are shafting you. Them being bought doesn't change anything, the buying company inherits their obligations. I have some experience in...

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. A fresh 'FYI' thread on it (and what they said to you) might be handy when it's less raw. I'd be very unhappy too. It certainly wasn't common knowledge as far as I knew.

Re: d585 coils (or similar) to borrow for test

Anyway, as I've been living under a rotary rock for the last few months, I've only just found out that RR are no longer fulfilling their lifetime warranty. Whaaaaaat? They won't fulfil the warranty promise to the original buyer (you)? Or are these ones a second hand set you inherited? If they have ...

Yeah, first decide on your budget and go from there. There's hundreds of £££s difference in choice for what you're looking for. Otherwise you're going to get a dozen different answers. It's just like tyres.

Re: Recommend me a tow car...

I'm looking at replacing the Renault Zoe within the next couple of years with an older model Great Wall Steed, as a tow truck and practical daily (I do a lot of DIY). Plan to start green laning with it too. They can tow 2500kg braked and are ridiculously cheap compared to other trucks and just as go...

Sorry Alan that sounds rough. If you've still got any pain or dizziness get someone to take you straight to A&E.
At least the car died a warrior's death. Your future generations will find it cool that you had an FD and that you had big enough balls to track it.

Re: GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

I suggest a bigger rear spoiler first if you want another front splitter. The front of your car is already quite aggressive that any more and I feel it looks unbalanced. It's good as it is now for example.
Am not suggesting going full BGW, just bigger to match the front if you add the splitter.

Good call, I need to find one to hear in person. I'll add it to the Autumn cost list after the coils/leads I've just bought, getting the wheels refurbed, new tyres this month, and having the car rust proofed. 8-[

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I changed the belts (personal note: go for a slightly longer 825 alternator belt next time) and finally removed the K&N Typhoon  and replaced it with a stock airbox sourced ages ago from bigpete and a K&N panel filter. Also cleaned the MAF, air meshes, throttle body and resonator. Only took m...

I'm a contrarian here, as I don't use the expensive stuff, although I premix. I put in one tank of V-power to see if it made a difference and it didn't... and loads of other good points I'm just snipping to shorten the quote! I read that it takes time or a battery disconnection/manual reset for the...

Re: Fitting Racing Beat Revi Ramair duct

Thanks that's helpful. I'll cut it and do my best. Good to know that small gaps (if there are any) won't be the end of the world. Even with the current gap airflow is much better than when the VFAD was there. The scoop has lowered the reported coolant temp significantly, when measured over OBD2.

Re: Fitting Racing Beat Revi Ramair duct

Hi Dave. I've got the scoop fitted and am trying to replace my K&N Typhoon with a stock air box that I've bought. Now I'm looking to seal that gap between the scoop and opening of the air box. I'm assuming that leaving that gap will disturb air flow and then I might as well keep the Typhoon. I was p...

Maybe. Perhaps it was a user mod. It was a photo I grabbed from the US forum so I have no answers sadly. My shrouds look so nasty from having to glue them twice there's no way I was going to photo them.
