another great evening guys, food at the new venue was very good (even if my random nonsensical ramblings interrupted).

i don't know if i can do the next one so i'll have to play that by ear.

That circle always ends up as my tool bench working outside  rotors, housings, tools, parts, you name it, it's always sat there  It was a neighbour who popped round, ended up digging them out to do a "show and tell" of sorts as they'd heard of the "Wankel engine" but ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Yeah I am going to look into the TC issue after ive checked the subframe/linkages. Replace wheel and make sure hub hasn't taken any twist. Had been looking at new tyres next month, but given I now need to buy a wheel its going to have to wait another month. Landsail are on the bottom of the scales ...

is the centre brake light working?? are you running all the same tyres as well?? The small one in the boot? no, not worked for weeks as wires are damaged. Re: Tyre changers and wheels balancers

Mini PSA for education that I thought I'd add here, didn't seem worth a new thread. Anyway, this week our Jaguar XF drove over a small screw. That itself not a problem and would be an easy repair, being just far enough from the edge. I've done many such plug and patch repairs now. https://www.dropb...

Re: C hooked discs

i find that the Mtec discs and M1144's will squeal under light braking when cold.

a thrash and rebed normally solves this for the short term, i'm guessing the pad compound is just hard enough to make the discs sing under light braking.

Christ John that was lucky! 😬 Possible the tyre can be saved?
Tyre hasn't suffered a scratch. Need to get under and check linkages. And see why the TC light is on, It came on at the same time she kicked out.

i run dimpled and grooved Mtec disks on the Mazda and grooved on the Mondeo (they don't do plain disks for some reason) and have always got on well with them.

i do want to try C-hooks though on my next set of disks for the rex

Useful info which I didn't know beforehand 👍 Think mine failed on Tuesday when I parked in a multi storey there may have been a wet patch underneath that looked a bit green. No that'd be bad. 😂 Reading is an hour and 30 from work. If I can get the car over speed bumps at work it'd be nice to get it out straight after work. However if I had a 3.30am getup time the next day... I'd have to inhale my food and leave within 5 minutes almost. 😂 sweet i could almost chase you ...
