Re: False Review! Your help is needed!

I've reported it too pal. Carl if you pay for Google ads and services you may have more leverage when reporting aswell. Generally they won't do anything unless it's defamatory, breaches their terms and conditions. But as a paying customer or an influencer, there is more chance to have them take acti...

Re: Passenger side speaker vibration

You could possibly test it in situ with the door card removed and connectors attached. If you use Bluetooth then you can find test frequencies or download and burn a CD to playback continuously on a loop. Find the frequency that resonates the most and then look around to find put what is vibrating. ...

Re: The winter car thats probably going to be longer than winter.

Mods will probably wait a small while whilst I let my finances reaccumulate. But Im probably going to mess around doing some DIY type things I wouldn't do to the 8 without fearing for messing it up . This is my plan with the Vectra - first up, I'm going to try some of these because they're dirt che...

Re: Free Car Lift, Barbecue - Saturday 26th October from 8.30am

Really good get together, would of benifited by turning my racing beat scoop into a snorkel, but no issues, spring or summer would be a good call for another meet like this. Well done Rob! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38] I was thinking that on the drive home. I could make a cold air ram trumpet. Then y...

Re: Stereo sucurity bolt

That's a really good point Dave. By habit I always pull the battery before doing any electrical work. Check those screws connecting the facia to the unit. There shouldn't be a gap and if you look close you might see the sleeves sticking out of the facia. So give that fix a whirl. Don't bother about ...

Re: Stereo sucurity bolt

Yeah what he said. The facia is screwed to the unit with 4 screws. But the problem is the brass / copper sleeve inserts which are inserted into the facia. Over time, those sleeves become loose and the facia slowly moves away from the unit. So no screwing back in will work and if it does, it will wor...

Re: Free Car Lift, Barbecue - Saturday 26th October from 8.30am

Looking forward to catching up guys.
Just got my cavity wax and Vactan delivered last night.
If the weather permits, I might do some Vactan on the driveway before the end of the month.

In a side note, it's still early days, does anyone else want ribeye picked up?

Re: Bose AudioPilot

Due to the reflective capability of leather I would guess if they did eq specifically, cloth would have a hyped mid to hi frequency curve. Someone could potentially notice the lack of highs, if they did have a leather version in a cloth. But personally I don't think many would take notice. That bein...

Re: Bose AudioPilot

Just as a thought, Bose became popular due to their innovative yet simple audio reproduction designs. Sometimes technology isn't as obvious to the listener as the approach to reproducing to original source of audio is not to mask it with more equalisation but flatten out the characteristics that the...

Re: Bose AudioPilot

works on mine. i use it to reduce the effect of the audible speed controller in the passenger seat. with it on it masks wot a bit :) Isn't yours an R3? The Bose stereo is not the same but has the S1 so the AudioPilot V2 uses microphone as an input source to the VCA but also has canbus speed as an a...

Re: Bose AudioPilot

I think I went off on one. Basically, you probably won't hear much difference above volume 10. If you have a loud exhaust and/or tires then the effect won't be as noticeable as it's been trimmed to work within the original cars expected noises. It sounds all fancy and stuff but the principal is pret...

Re: Bose AudioPilot

Absolutely dude. In some ways it's actually a side effect of changing the sound of the engine with a louder exhaust. TV and radio broadcast stations actually compress the living crap put of the audio. Smashing every frequency with a compressor makes it louder, decreasing the dynamic range. It's an o...

Re: Bose AudioPilot

I'm actually in the process of doing a write up on it. Effectively, for any of you who remember the loudness button on older car stereos. The loudness button was a pretty simple circuit that recreated the effects of the Fletcher Munson curve in reverse. Where at lower perceived levels our ears are n...
