Re: Changing my starter motor. Which should I buy..?

Personally I would think that maybe you got one a buggered one. And it would make sense that the supplier would want to see this. Also if it was a buggered one, I'd expect them to replace it if it's within the warranty period. I found mine would easily spin around 300+ rpm. Hence why am surprised th...

Re: Changing my starter motor. Which should I buy..?

I don't have any starting problems I didn't have any with the old starter I was told by my local, very well respected Rx8 specialist that my old starter was getting slow at 215rpm So I thought I'd get a new one since the car would be up on ramps to do the engine mounts The engine has only done 9000...

Re: 2.2kW Starter: 13 teeth or 14 teeth (S1)

Ive never understood why a rx8 is such a issue with starting and has uprated starters...my fd is at 4 bar compression...its starts epic hot cold...it stalls at junctions on an 850 idle but a 1250 idle no problem... The starter is a no idea ive never changed it..looks original to me. The fd has a lo...

Re: Changing my starter motor. Which should I buy..?

I bought a Schmitz starter and it only spins at 200rpm when engine is cold and 240rpm warm. Waste of money and time. And they refuse refund without 'inspection' and told me it was due to my engine low compression (which is actually very good) Can't risk sending back and more arguments I'll just rig...

Re: 585 coils for members use

Hello there,i have recently acquired a known good set of 585 coils, given to me by a friend and member of the club. I thought that it might be a good idea to use them on a borrow and return basis for the benefit of any members wishing to do any trouble shooting on their cars, before spending money on...

Re: Velocity red paint code

I've just spoken to my mate about it and yeah the code may not have variants but that's only "out if the box"
A skilled paint shop will be able to create variants and match mix it there. He recommended a place called Spraywell in Dudley

Re: Velocity red paint code

I don't understand why there wouldn't be variants as the color will change depending on the medium it's applied to. So there's gotta be variations?

Re: Engine Issue

Thanks to you all. I know it has been many months but my baby is now fully running again and passed MOT. Similar scenario here!
When you see pics like this, do you find yourself looking around to see what you recognise, either car parts or tools?

Re: LED lights - Legal?

Oh and also I forgot to mention about kelvins. Natural sunlight is around 5k Kelvin. If we change that temperature to higher, its also in effect reducing the amount of visible light. So whiter isn't necessarily brighter. That being said, if we drove a lamp rated at 35w with 55w and that lamp was mea...

Re: LED lights - Legal?

I hope I don't tread on anyone's toes here. I used to be a lighting designer for large establishments in NZ i.e opera houses, theatres, and major live events. The one thing that gripes me the most is the way that LEDs are advertised. They use a term you would all recognise "Lumens". While this term ...
