Re: Data logger / screen

There's schematics for a RXcanbus shield. That will probably have a lot of the pids in it. The project was called RXduino. I've been toying with the idea for getting the below for my pi 3+ and replacing the tablet satnav. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Raspberry-Pi-7-Inch-Screen-Display/dp/B014WKCFR4 Yea...

Re: Shoft - new generation seatbelt lock

I used it as a CG-lock. I bought the Shoft first and realised it would require me to cut the clip so I bought that as a replacement. I'd even contacted Shoft and they accepted I return for a refund but thought I'd hold out. Thankfully I didn't. I've been using them since last year. And found it grea...

Re: Shoft - new generation seatbelt lock

Thanks Dave, You talked me into fitting it right now. That took me about 5-10 minutes, while chatting with the neighbor. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200313/c3fbc901fbe173dfde3dcd59c369d6c2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200313/e4a6eb19d61a3abdbad1618a3c72cd03.jpg https://uploads.tapat...

Re: Shoft - new generation seatbelt lock

I bought this early-ish last year. Still haven't fitted it[emoji23] I think for anyone who's already had cglock then this would be a good replacement. The only gripe I have is knowing I have to cut out the top hoop of the seatbelt. To fit this Shoft Based on how you explained the operation of the do...

Thank you, you lot for your kind words. I cannot tell you how relieved I am that Chris has taken this albatross from my neck; I am sleeping so much better now that I do not have to give any thought to that accursed thing. That is me done with RX8s, never again. I have been giving a lot of thought t...

Re: SSV (not)bushing /the peg that acts at a stop for the mechanism silicone hose?

Cold starts are not a problem (now that I've changed the ignition! ). Hot starts are a little harder sometimes but not a lot. I have seen this as a common sign of low compression. Although I haven't had to push start it yet. Fuel economy might be getting lower, I'm sitting on 23.7 mpg average as a d...

Re: SSV (not)bushing /the peg that acts at a stop for the mechanism silicone hose?

Thanks alot for this help guys. I finally got around to fixing it. With the air pump solenoid feed tube. I put that over the nipple. It was alot easier to get to after I removed the air pump. Carl from RRP mapped out the air pump so I could remove it and no CEL There was another small culprit that h...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Air pump delete day today. First thing was to check that I could actually remove the nuts holding the air feed to the exhaust manifold. Luckily they loosened with no real force. I hadn't bought a blanking plate so out came the grinder and Piller drill and some sheet. Copied the shape (close but not ...

Re: Customer feedback

Just want to say thank you again to Carl. I won the RRP Coils in the raffle at the AGM 2020. And I was so surprised, blown away... all I could say was WOW! Fitting the coils was such an easy task and no need for adapter wiring or a coil mount. They plug directly into the OEM harness and set perfectl...

Oh this is great. Thanks heaps man. Yeah that makes sense. I'll whip something up on the printer tonight. I'm making a plug/cup thing to cover the hole. So I can pressurise the intake and finally find this dang vacuum leak

Thanks again bro

In case it serves as a reference: I have been using gasoline with an added 10% ethanol for 3 years and 30000km and the car is fabulous, better than with gasoline alone: Softer I do not notice loss of power (it is 192 and goes up without problems well above 8000rpm) Consumption has barely increased ...
