Re: ^^^TRACKDAY, Mallory – Saturday 9th November @ SOLD OUT^^^

How do you download the photos?

I've not found a way of doing it, but that might be because I'm on a phone, not a PC.

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY, Mallory – Saturday 9th November @ SOLD OUT^^^

I found the exit from the hairpin to be a lot more eye opening than in the RX8. Previously there was no thought involved - mash the accelerator as early as you can and the lack of low down torque means all was fine. Based on this I thought you were exiting in 3rd, as you should be able to get aroun...

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY, Mallory – Saturday 9th November @ SOLD OUT^^^

That hairpin is definitely a 2nd gear corner. I suspect the difference you may have found rotary potato between the 8 and the boxster may have been partly to do with the conditions. First thing in the day that hairpin still had some frozen fog on it, and from mid afternoon it was very, very wet. An...

That just means you were in too high a gear in the 8 [-X
Nope. Would have been instantly into the limiter if I dropped it to first, and the time taken changing up to second would have taken more time than the moment of bogging as it came into the powerband.

Great to see some familiar faces, put some faces to forum names & and enjoy your generous hospitality.

It definitely is the best car club I've been involved with - you're all a credit to the community. :thumleft:

Hopefully see some of you at future trackdays.

I took the convertible roof cleaner out the boot.

I also found out the roof of my shed is less than 100% waterproof, right above where my helmet has been stored! Currently drying off on the radiator!

Thanks to the generosity of several members on here (bigpete, Chris Holmes and Malcolm) I shall now be joining you lot on the day =D> . Doesn't mean an extra car I am afraid just an additional driver and walking around pestering people for passenger rides  Looks like I shall be buying a few br...

At the moment I'm the only non-Japanese, non-RX8 going.

So while I hope you get to drive your first choice Ranjan, I won't be crying if there's another mid-engined European car in our group (although I bet you'll be more popular for passanger requests than me! :thumleft: ). :)

Re: ^^^TRACKDAY, Mallory – Saturday 9th November @ £119^^^

Thanks guys. Yep - i'll be bringing my new daily (so may not be pushing it as hard as I did the RX8 - there's always that "I need this to get to work" voice in your head), a 2001 Porsche Boxster S. It's a very different feeling car to the RX8 (neither better, nor worse - just different), s...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Ill have a look at the main body earth. And give the starter wire a check over too. Ill attempt to crank and check the voltage too. Not sure how long the wires for my multimeter are off the top of my head. Do you own a friend/significant other who might be trusted to turn key (ideally with fuel pum...

Re: Funny and ironic

His car doesn't use battery when sat in traffic.

There's no idling in a leccy car.

Infact, he's probably getting better range in stop-start traffic than if it were free flowing at 70mph.

I won't own an RX8, but hope to have replaced it with something else by then.

I'll keep an eye on this, and see if I can commit nearer the time. :thumleft:

Re: Values??

I can put a potato up on eBay for £5k but that doesn't have anything to do with what its market value is. Could argue that if it's still for sale a few days after being listed then it's probably not a good price. That's why I say look for what things have actually sold for as this will be (not perf...
