Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Ill have a look at the main body earth. And give the starter wire a check over too. Ill attempt to crank and check the voltage too. Not sure how long the wires for my multimeter are off the top of my head. Do you own a friend/significant other who might be trusted to turn key (ideally with fuel pum...

Great news mate. So glad things are starting to go your way with it.

Fingers crossed you get a solid problem free period to enjoy it now. :thumleft:

Re: Funny and ironic

His car doesn't use battery when sat in traffic.

There's no idling in a leccy car.

Infact, he's probably getting better range in stop-start traffic than if it were free flowing at 70mph.

I won't own an RX8, but hope to have replaced it with something else by then.

I'll keep an eye on this, and see if I can commit nearer the time. :thumleft:

Re: Values??

I can put a potato up on eBay for £5k but that doesn't have anything to do with what its market value is. Could argue that if it's still for sale a few days after being listed then it's probably not a good price. That's why I say look for what things have actually sold for as this will be (not perf...

Re: Newbie looking to buy first RX8

Based on just the information given, between £500-1500.

If there's no rust underneath & has a decent compression test, then somewhere around £2k-£3k is probably reasonable.

Re: West Midlands - Track day suggestions..

Mallory Park & Silverstone are the two nearest (in terms of journey time).

I like Mallory - it's about 40 mins away (A46, M69, A5) - has a nice compact track that suits the 8, and often has quite reasonably priced trackdays.

Simon, I have a full set that I haven't even opened the box on. I'm not sure what route you'd be taking from Sheffield back to Bristol ... but I'm in Leamington Spa, which might be close to your route.

Do they need to be coded to the car?

Or can you grab one cheaply off someone breaking an RX8? I bet 99.999% of 8's being broken have fully working brakes! :)

It'll be 12 months since my car died on the way back from this meet.

If I can get it running right, I'll be there. However, the chances of that happening are pretty small!

Re: PZ Wheels - What would be a decent price?

I have a spare set with fairly new (1 scrubbing in session & 1/2 day on a damp track) Nankang NS-2R track tyres on.

Wheels are all straight and true, but cosmetically could do with a refurb. Only 1 centre cap.

I'd let them go for 500 if you were interested.
