Re: Buying an R3 v3.. kind of

The easy way to gauge what black wheels will look like On a blue R3 is look at V8Power’s which is in the For Sale section.

Another alternative is a shadow chrome finish which I had done to my own car and a blue R3 I was selling at the time;

Re: Is this a laboured start and lumpy idle???

These are very normal numbers for an R3 of that mileage which is likely still running a cat and not been pre-mixed. Imo, some prospective owners get too hung up on expecting compression numbers which are matching the guidelines Mazda set over a decade ago when the cars were still new. I would buy it...

I think it’s a Model Year thing, Dumbo mirrors = red stitching ?

Edit - no I don’t think that’s right actually if Delta has red

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

This does change things a bit, it is still a pretty risk free purchase but with mileage being a fair bit higher than 37k the chances of the engine having low compression are higher. Anti roll bar links (drop links) are very common items to break and not dear to replace and the rust on the brakes is ...

Re: Possible RX-8 purchase

You can’t go wrong at £400 , if you don’t buy it I would!

If you want to end up with a well sorted car you would probably need to allow £500-600 more to get the brakes, fluids and ignition system up to scratch.

Do you know why it was taken off the road?

Re: Is this a laboured start and lumpy idle???

Coolant level light is VERY common so if coolant is at the correct level nothing to worry about Don’t be too fixed on 7s in compression, it is nice to have those numbers but these are not new cars anymore, my personal opinion is around mid 6s are still fine. I thought a shaky gear stick was a sign o...

Gutted for you, that word above is supposed to say w4nkers but the forum autocorrects it.

Hotel car parks seem to be a target, I know there have been cat thefts from the Holiday Inn near me.

Did it fetch the guide price or more? Don’t need specifics just interested to know?

Re: Rx8 Spirit R Part Numbers

When you consider what a used set of R3 headlights can be sold for to claw some money back, roughly £1k for a new set of Spirit R ones seems OK value to me.

I mean there’s breaking a car and there’s BREAKING a car, definitely the latter in your case.

Nick,

What condition are the front wings in? Any rust?
Could you post up some pics?

Ranjan.
Hi Ranjan, the near side wing is now sold. Do you only want them as a pair?
