What terrible luck you’ve had, hope you can recoup a decent amount of the outlay.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Drove over to Oxford to meet Nick and give him Neils WhiteLine ARBs that he bought months ago and to receive my front AeroLip. Aside from the fog it was a pleasant traffic free drive. A nice R3 brapped into the car park as we chatted and we thought it was the one just collected from RR with a bridg...

Re: Catalytic Converter Thefts.

Yes, Pippypip has highlighted the ones I mean and as he says are no doubt all made in the same place. They go through an MOT no problem when new, how long that lasts I am not sure as my RX-8 doesn’t do much mileage . But one thing I am sure of is at that kind of price range , the car drives better w...

Re: Catalytic Converter Thefts.

I think most know what they are looking for, unless they are complete planks they wouldn't risk getting caught for £20 worth of ECP cat. Just as a sidenote, I do find the cheap cats really make a difference to how the RX-8 drives, it feels like it's being restricted a little. I think the cheaper spo...

Just ordered some Rainsports so given 2020s track record I am sure something will come up to prevent me from going 😂

They’re about £55 from dealers if you can’t find one used so not too bad , I bought a pair a few weeks ago and both arrived within a few days

If that's as clean as he says in terms of rust it could be a very good buy. Assuming the traction control light isn't anything serious either :)

Re: RX-8 going up in value?

FMSH is a good thing to me, my car had such up until I bought it last year. Specialist is ideal I guess though ultimately evidence of regular servicing is the main thing as you say. I have come across a few RX-8s over the years that have been serviced for many years by non-specialist indies which ha...

Having used a similar socket in the past and suffered similar scenarios, I use a 22mm spanner now, the plug just fits through it and no rounding off (thus far :) )

Likewise, actually I’m grateful to John (VJsothername) and Nigel for giving me the nudge on this as really looking forward to it now, always more enjoyable with a good club turnout.

Spray of water and gently rock it side to side with the screwdriver works most of the time for me with those (godforsaken) clips.

Re: FOR SALE - 2006 RX-8 PZ - £3k ONO

So a one private owner, FMSH, PZ that has clearly been looked after for £3k or close to? Seems a great purchase for someone , I guess the usual thing of advising a comp test still applies but even without one it doesn’t seem bad at all.
