And to think I missed the original post because I was walking to the post office to send a set of calipers to Bigg Red for a refurb!

Re: Hi, im a new RX8 owner

For servicing the two nearest specialists I can think of are Rotery Revs (very well respected, located on the outskirts of Leeds) and WGT Auto Developments (seem less well known, but equally well respected, the owner Pip has huge experience in rotary engines and builds rotary race cars!) I'm running...

Re: Hello from a prospective buyer

To be fair the HME said the engine is healthy and new spark plugs would improve the results. How much would this improve results by? Humm....   Maybe someone more educated can comment on this, I cannot think of any sensible reason why new spark plugs would improve compression!

Re: RX-8 Jack gone hard to use.

Scissor jacks were a frequent topic of conversation on the Range Rover forum I used to frequent as the one supplier with the car was clearly dangerous Many stories of them failing and almost everyone replaced the scissor jack with a Mercedes Sprinter jack (about £20 from ebay) I have used the scisso...

If the compression is only 4.7 on both rotors (as per the original for sale thread) this will likely magnify any other weakness re. starting

LOL, let alone double declutching when driving cars without a synchromesh gearbox

And I agree, a Range Rover is the best tow car ever!

Re: 2 Shades of Grey and Good Compression

Avoid short journey and pootling around at low revs
The rotary needs to be red lined (or close) regularly to prevent carbon build up

I'd PM SeriousSam as I believe he had a pair that he'd refurbed recently and could be persuaded to part with them ;)
Thanks, have PM'd him :thumright:

TRW Calipers

Gents, my car doesn't get much use and the front drivers side caliper seems to be sticking My local garage replaced the slider bolts when it was in for an MOT a couple of weeks ago (all passed ok) but its not fixed the problem I've been looking at various options and it seems to be cheaper to buy a ...

Re: Electric SUPERCHARGER

I fitted two at the weekend, one for each rotor and WOW it is amazing, I'd have qualified third for the Hungary GP!! Car is off the road at the moment as some of the duct tape I'd used to mount them was sucked into the intake (along with a cat, sunflower and a small child's ice cream) but I'll post ...

Re: Dropped myself in at the PZ end

The upgraded door speakers have a massively beneficial impact on the (already amazing) PZ handling

I would check - I had a dodgy speaker, ordered a standard S1 speaker from eBay and it didn't fit!

Re: It's a great car and other non-negative RX8 stuff

I drive my RX8 much, its a summer, weekend car, only used in the dry and when I'm not taking the kids somewhere (ah well, only 24k on the clock and in immaculate condition so at least I'm keeping the miles off it) I don't use it to commute as my route is stop/start traffic on the motorway. I have a ...
