Re: How to improve Ignition

I am personally finding that the language barrier is making things difficult to follow; when there are small linguistic errors that make things unclear, they can change the meaning of a sentence quite easily, depending on how one fills in the blanks. But I think that you have misunderstood the "1/3 ...

Re: How to improve Ignition

You should find, though, that those old ignition systems only put out about 20kV though, which is about half of modern engines. Fine for low-strung applications with little volumetric efficiency. I do believe RRP's coils provide 60kV, for comparison. Even tiny 3-cyl 1.0L city cars these days can hav...

I can't be sure with the Monos but I believe some of them recommend a 'running in period' with the dampers set full Soft I believe - could be wrong, but maybe worth checking in the destructions.

I've changed the oil after a week and it's come out dark.

Can only really tell when it's pouring out and there's light behind it - they all look mucky in a container.

FS: PZ Rear Springs (used) -PENDING SOLD-

Sold pending paymelon. I've got 4x new springs fitted now from the group buy so these are just sitting as spares. 1x pair of rear PZ springs. Used. Nothing wrong with them when they were on the car, but couldn't resist the one-time opportunity to get new ones. Some paint missing and the underlying m...

That's probably just a wire on the rear O2 sensor - happens quite often and doesn't affect the running of the car.

Re: Coils and HT Leads.

Before changing anything - if they've been replaced by a reputable shop then are we certain they're actually at fault? Do you know what the place is called as I'm not aware of anyone in MH myself. Usually coils last many years and it's uncommon for one owner to go through a few sets of decent coils ...

From my data, around the 6.3 kg/cm2 mark, normalised to 250rpm.

But of course, lengths of string vary wildly by how roughly they're handled.

Daddyo can carry on making an absolute minimal-effort bodge of everything at his own leisure without my constant 'moaning' that standards aren't good enough. I can't be having my name on the things he puts out any more - it's only a matter of time before an enormous bill for a failed part comes to b...

Re: Hello everyone!! 231 track car (Hopefully)

I've run without a clutch switch for weeks and there's no downsides as bad as that - it just thinks you're in gear with the clutch up and kicks the revs up a bit sometimes. Strange but not debilitating.

Re: Wheel/Tyre size impact on alignment settings

Similar to the above, when I fit suspension and have to tighten bushes up in their 'loaded' position: I don't have the wheels on, I just plonk a jack under the correct place on whatever corner it is and jack it up, then measure the distance from the bearing centre to the top of the arch to make sure...

Re: Wheel/Tyre size impact on alignment settings

The ride height which I think you're referring to with alignment is how compressed the springs are depending on how weighted the car is - distance between top of wheel arch and wheel centre. You can fit monster truck wheels/tyres to alter the ride height but this alignment measurement won't change, ...
