Dave beat me to it.

As said, Rotaries can be fairly efficient in given scenarios.

Re: fuel economy 101

I think Mr Dentist is probably doing this community a disservice by talking down to everyone with the opening line "I bet none of you lot have heard of the NSU Wankel engine"... But either way. Cylinder deactivation (I know it isn't cylinder, but it's an easier term to use) *might* improve ec...

Re: Struggling to start hot after rebuild

I'm fairly certain it does reset the limited bits that the 20 stomp does on the R3, it just can't show you it has because of the lack of oil gauge. Ultimately the 20 stomp does jaff all to 99.999% of cars, so I don't see why people keep perpetuating it as a save all ECU reset. If you want to reset t...

Re: Wolverhampton Mazda and Bristol Street Birmingham

Bit of feedback on this, my good peeps, as dear FrankenRex2 went in to Edwards Mazda in Worcester. They were efficient, made no comment on the condition and running of my car and half an hour after dropping it off threw the keys back to me and off I went. Very nice bunch - good tea as well. Whilst I...

Re: Thinking about buying a RX8

Don't wanna sound like a stuck record, but get an insurance quote first. So many young guys on here going "I've bought an 8 and they want £2,000 for insurance WTF?!". Ultimately as has been said, also, is that they are cheap to buy but the running costs aren't great. They need frequent oil changes, ...

Mine idles at 2000 and went for a long old drive yesterday in about 23/24 - not exactly taking it easy and had no issues.

Definitely something up I'd say. Give Ben a call, he'll sort you out I'm sure.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Thanks Dave. Yeah everyone at the repairer has looked at me confused whenever I've suggested that that the energy could have been transferred further along the car... so it's worth checking beyond the body work. Nice to know I'm not going crazy... they're just not very good. Will be very careful to...

And it's only a hundred bucks for that feel at the moment. Do you remember how much shipping was with raceroots Dan? The checkout won't calculate the shipping cost for me unless I give it my DNA and blood type first. I got it whilst a mate was over in the US so it was only domestic shipping for me....

That's what I'm saying, I can't see it making much difference, however it does make for a very nice shifter feel over the stock - so that counts as a win to me.

RX8 Syncro Saver Feedback

OIOI! Was going to put this in my build thread (probably still will so it's all in one place), however I thought others may benefit or be interested. For those who don't know, the Race Roots Syncro Saver is a little metal frame which bolts to the top of the transmission. It limits the throw of the s...

Since its a nice day I'm also going to compression test it if I can get the eccentric shaft sensor unplugged! Wat? No need to unplug the E-shaft sensor... Just pull the fuel pump fuse. you need to pull the e shaft sensor too or you get weird results (certainly on the testers bought in the group buy...

With something like this whats to stop you (other than its fraudulent) putting it in your Grans car for her to tootle down the shows once a week outside of peak hours at 10 MPH instead of your own car? Quite simply, if you have an accident and 'your' car is at home based on their black box then you...

This.

Although the SORN figures are kinda subjective. There may be a few on SORN that are roadworthy (mine is currently on SORN for example), but there may also be a few that are on SORN being stripped for parts etc.

Well that, my good hap, is somewhat of a relief and bit of good news.

Let's see how well they deal with it not idling after a battery disconnect :D
