Re: Dr. FrankenRex's Monster! The VR R3 Grimme ælling - Now with added YouTube

Picked up these beauties this evening :-D

18" Mazda 3 MPS alloys. Don't quite fit over my brakes, but means I have some R3 look track wheels.

One is buckled so need to get that sorted, but should be fine :thumleft:

Re: Limited Club Photoshoot

That might work, but it's a jaffing long way from me...

If I'm honest, I'd rather do it around the Cotswolds - not purely because it's near me, but because I'd like to scope certain locations and things prior to the shoot to envisage the kind of shots I want to try and get.

Re: Limited Club Photoshoot

Sounds fun. Will it matter if the cars tatty? Or is that where some of the editing comes into play? Sadly when I say editing I mean the image parameters. I can have a lash at removing small blemishes etc. but I'm not miracle worker! 😂 How about at Robs bbq car meet, location is fantastic, there wil...

Limited Club Photoshoot

Hey guys, I do a bit of amateur photography, as I'm sure others do, but I wondered whether people might be interested in a limited photoshoot (say no more than 5 cars) somewhere over the spring/ summer? I'd be happy to edit the photos for free etc. but maybe a voluntary contribution toward my time a...

It is indeed sold, however there is a group buy on retrims of either the S1 or the R3 wheel if you're interested?

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Cadwell Park - Monday 2nd March £99***

So this photoshoot, is it with their photographer or is it a bit of a free for all with us taking our own pics? The reason I ask is that if it's a free for all then it may be worth having one person 'in charge' so to speak to ensure the time isn't wasted?

I have a friend who is coming (in an RX8) if you want to add them on to guarantee the photoshoot?

Right then guys, production of my first video is under-way - nothing exciting, really, I had to replace the discs and pads on the daily Mazda 6... However, I am going to be planning future vids and wanted to know what sort of stuff people might be interested in. So far I have the below: - FrankenRex...

Re: OEM cat. (likely blocked)

A fully working, solid internal RX8 CAT is worth somewhere in the region of £300-350 if you were to sell to a CAT scrapper. As long as all the 'bits' are still there in yours I would imagine you could still get ~£200 for it easily. Just google 'Catalytic Converter Scrap' and find one near you. It'll...

Re: Tyre Pressure Maintenance

In France (and some other countries) it's a legal requirement to carry spare bulbs, which makes sense as bulb failure is statistically more likely than a puncture. This boggles my mind a tiny bit, though, for one hilarious reason - The Renault Scenic. The current and previous generation of Renault ...

Re: LED lights - Legal?

I'm still hoping for smoked headlights. It's the only exterior mod I need and will even out my tinted rear lights. You sure as hell better mean smoked internals and not smoked lenses, because smoked lenses is one of my biggest pet peeves! sidelights, indicators and the like, I don't see any r...

Re: Tyre Pressure Maintenance

I was thinking of a foot pump instead, so to not have to start the car for minor adjustments Can't add any more to what has already been said, as I use the Mazda OEM one. Seems accurate enough to me. Only thing I can add is that the cigarette lighter adaptor is powered on when the key is in IGN pos...

Re: LED lights - Legal?

Wading in with the experiences I've had modifying headlights and tail lights... Firstly, and I touch on it in future - DON'T REPLACE EITHER YOUR DIPPED OR MAIN BEAMS WITH LEDs. Headlights - If a car comes with halogen lights, anything other than halogen should be an MOT fail. Would a tester pick thi...

Re: 4.77 Diff from R3

Well, depending on mileage the cost of the part is ~£500-700. Fitting labour is between £100-300 depending on who is doing it and their hourly rate.

As for the difference it makes, I hear that it is the best combo that is out there for an enjoyable level of acceleration.

RX8 R3 Airbag - Also fits NC MX5 - £45

Hey Peeps, I have replaced my airbag for cosmetic reasons (the one I've moved to is a different colour scheme), as such the old one is now available for purchase. It is in very good condition, with very light surface scratches on the horn button and one scratch on the plastic itself - tried to pictu...

Re: Porting without affecting mpg-possible?

It is worth noting that an engine that is nearing rebuild territory will be down on MPG compared to a fresh build anyway, so even if you went from an engine that was low on comp to a full bridgeport you'd likely feel an improvement in economy just because everything is fresh and running more efficie...
