Re: Sad Day at RRP!! - Result are in! Engine Teardown

Would concur, I run oil temp/pressure and water temp gauges on my standard motor and gives a much more accurate insight as to whats going on. so well worth the expense of doing so. Atleast you've gotten to the bottom of the mystery Carl :thumright:

Its been a while, I see I've expired so just sent my renewal fee. If who ever in power now of the club member status could hit the green light button for me that would be great.
Good to see you back :thumright: . Hows the build going?

Re: Confirmed hot start issue - gutted!

If it is has hot start issues, then £900 is not the end of the world. At least you sampled the delights of what this car can give you, shame, a little more diligence when buying, would have gotten you a better example. GLWTS anyway

Re: Metra kit, anything better?

There was someone that stripped the board out of the oem headunit, fitted it in a plastic box and bolted up behind the fascia. This was before Metra offered their "Climate Control option" and he was able to use the original "Manual A/C only" version, with the Climate Control still working as normal...

Re: Metra kit, anything better?

You could swap it for an R3? Then it's simple fascia change. Depends on how desperate you are to avoid the Metra kit buttons I guess. May seem drastic to swap cars given all the work you've put in, but it is an option/solution so had to offer it. If it worked 100% all of the time, then wouldn’t be ...

Re: Metra kit, anything better?

The metra kit in mine wound me up so much I pulled it all out and put a standard Bose back in, I'd like a nice Android Auto double din HU in the car but having HVAC controls that were a bit hit and miss annoyed me more than the lack of a modern HU. I've gone for one of the bluetooth Grom BT3 boxes ...

Metra kit, anything better?

Hi all fellow rotarians :D

Having been toying with changing the head unit, but have read that although the metrakit seems to be good, it’s not 100% reliable. Is there anything out there that allows a head unit change but keeps climate controls and is reliable in its function?

Wouldnt worry about that, My 8 was in that very situation being off the road for two years, no battery connected. To be fair, a battery connected or not makes no difference

Re: Versatune (remap software) - GroupBuy Offer.

To anyone sitting on the fence about it, don't. Now I've fitted alot of mods to my 8, but after Carl worked his magic on mine, it's has totally transformed the car, it was amazing what was done through software alone. 100% best mod I've done by far. Just do it :)

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Thanks for that Chris. I didn't recall it running that high pre oil change and got me a little worried, considering the guage Max's out at 7 bar, so I'm not sure where the max result at the beep would be. No oil leaks and running sweet as a nut too.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Changed engine oil, now my oil pressure guage is acting a little weird. When I'm 6k rpm and over I'm reading over 7 bar on the rspec guage. First thought was Ive over filled it, but I've only used 4 litres on the change so rules over filling out. Hard to tell also on the dipstick as the oil is so cl...

Drove it :) Awesome machine, forgotten how good they are. Quick q on temps. Now its a hot day and going around town, was getting 90-95c on the water temp and 80-85c on the oil temps. Take they're ok?
