Re: Yakushi Show, British Motor Museum 2020 - Saturday 15th August

Can we set a time for the meet up?.. Paul AV tells me he's aiming for 8.30AM..is this reasonable :?:

The R3 has performed faultlessly all week,so the only reason I can see for me not being there is the damn thing going dead..most likely on the M69

Re: Yakushi Show, British Motor Museum 2020 - Saturday 15th August

Weekend road testing of over 200 miles, has gone without a hitch,so I'm committed to this event, and really looking forward to it,especially if enough of us can form an 'unofficial' club stand ;)

The separate bumper section that Dave has mentioned doesn't carry the foglight..the broken part is actually on the main bumper body..

I had a drive of one of those some years ago and it was really good.
I seem to remember it had some form of driver configuration control where you could alter throttle response etc?
Graham,yes it has 3 modes - normal,wet and dynamic ;)

Re: Alfa Romeo MiTo..the new daily

Back in 2013,the year I bought the R3,I organised an informal pub meet, and Velocity Vinnie showed up in a MiTo..I liked the look of it back then..and remembered it when I was hunting for a new daily ;)

Love that colour - it’s the black with the red fleck right?

Yup..in dull light the car looks a solid black, but catch the light and it appears almost black cherry ;)

Why the jaffing heck do you buy a new battery every year?! That's hideously bad for the environment.
What I choose to do with my car has zero to do with your opinion.

I use a battery conditioner during hibernation, but still like to fit a new battery, and the hell with the environment..

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Pulled the R3 out the garage, spent a couple of hours washing and waxing the gal, fitted a new battery - I fit a new Varta E23 every year - checked and corrected the tyre pressures,as they always lose a bit during hibernation, then took her for a 30 mile run...and fell in love all over again. Been seri...

Having it in just looks tidier than a gaping open space, showing a filthy, and probably rusty, crossmember,as well as the fans.

If you don't particularly like the appearance of the stock plastic item, there's always an anodised one from Essex Rotary..

Adam,I'm just over in Gedling, mate :thumleft: RX8's tend to have a bit of a 'lumpy' idle, which is what you were most likely experiencing. Check the rim itself with the tyre that keeps going down - look for any signs of an impact having been hammered out, both outside and inside the rim. If the owner ...
