Re: Shropshire / West Midlands Meet - Friday 9th October ***7pm***

We're all good thanks Rob, whilst 2020 hasn't been the most social of years it's been great for me to spend so much time at home with my little girl rather than being in the office all the time, handy being able to work from home!

Re: Shropshire / West Midlands Meet - Friday 9th October ***7pm***

Hi All, Haven't been on forum much, car has been SORN most of the year! We haven't been out and about all that often either, probably being overly careful but I'd rather err on the side of caution with the baby. So I won't be doing anything with groups for a while as things stand. On the car front, ...

Re: Engine yellow light on not flashing

Pretty sure I had that p2259 code for ages. As I understood it, it was due to a secondary fan to get the cat up to temperature.... Didn't affect the drive at all. No limp mode or anything for me. I'll try to see how I solved it but think it was a case of just taking out the connector, spraying the ...

Re: Selling failed cats

I did the same thing, sold my OEM CAT and bought the RRP 200CEL, it's a bit louder but not a huge amount with the PZ backbox at least. Does pop a little bit when you come off the throttle, nothing like my motorbike though which burbles like mad. What are effectively straight pipes with one baffle in...

Re: Help - Awful engine grinding

Following this with interest, I have a slight clicking noise as well. Not as loud as yours is, got everyone who was at Robs to have a listen and none of us could work out where its coming from. Might try the garden hose trick and have a listen to the alternator next time its running though :-k

Re: 2020 Welsh Weekend of Campin,Rampin and Wanklin - Saturday 23rd May and Sunday 24th May : from 9am

Unfortunately I'd be very surprised if it went from travel ban to 'go ahead, gather in large groups immediately'. I think it will be a while before it's any kind of normal, which completely sucks. More likely I'd have thought to let people go back to work etc but keep pubs and social things like tha...

Re: Shropshire / West Midlands Meet - Friday 10th April - **7pm**

Good morning chaps, having given this some serious thought, and considering all the good advise out there,it is with deep regret that i propose we suspend further meets for the time being. It is a shame, as we were going really well, but it's a very small sacrifice compared to the efforts others are ...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Recalls all done at Furrows in Shrewsbury, no issues at all. The chap remembered Rob bringing in both of his two RX8s as well, said the service guys were really impressed haha.

Re: So..PZ Suspension

I find the PZ suspension on mine more comfortable on undulating/bumpy roads than my CX3. The CX3 isn't soft and bouncy or anything, just moves about more. I haven't driven any standard RX8s to compare, but certainly no issues with comfort, my wife and baby don't seem to mind it either!

Re: Gear Knob Upgrade

I've just bought an aluminium one from eBay, nice weight to it. Just gets really cold (and I expect really hot in the summer!) Edit: just realised its the same as this one: i have this one, it feels a bit lighter than the original but hasn't effected the gear changes they'll also customise it or cha...

Great :)

She has difficulty picking up tools at the moment but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it.

The springs are generally too long in the fitting kits and just ground a section off with an angle grinder.
Sounds like a plan, my Dad suggested the same when I spoke to him about it :thumleft:

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Fitted the RRP CAT yesterday, think I need shorter springs/longer bolts, the springs are very compressed and it was not easy to get it done up! Aside from that, doesn't sound like its blowing or anything, bit more noise and then collected £500 from a chap buying used CATs on the way home from work w...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

Fitted my 4in1 gauge, drove it about to check nothing leaks. All good :) Also tidied up a load of electrical tape connections behind the dash I found, and replaced the cig lighter with a usb socket.

Plan for tomorrow is to fit the RRP CAT.
