Re: South Wales (Cardiff) Meet - Saturday 9th June 6pm

We should be there.

Clara would like the buttermilk chicken and fondant

I’ll have the wagyu burger with bacon and chorizo extra (rare pls) and the chocolate bomb.

Re: JDM Castle Combe Sat 2nd June 2018

Yes, that’s exactly it, and what I should have done. I brain-failed and for some reason thought advance was clockwise so ended up at 6deg BTDC, hence the garbage performance. This is despite having successfully done this mod before now. What a pillock.

Re: JDM Castle Combe Sat 2nd June 2018

I did yes, what I actually managed to do was forget which way round the TDC and 10deg marks are and turn the CAS the wrong way... you can see why I feel so dumb

Re: JDM Castle Combe Sat 2nd June 2018

Thanks for organising to everyone involved, we had a fantastic day. It was a warm one wasn’t it! I have to make a formal apology and a rather embarrassing admission. I apologise to those I held up slightly in the first track session. I was moving off the line as much as possible but I’m aware I held...

Re: JDM Castle Combe Sat 2nd June 2018 IMPORTANT: SPECIAL NOISE CHECK INFO JUST POSTED

Just have a tally sheet in the windscreen of all the times it's broken down and people will think it's got a rotary under the bonnet. Jobs a good'un. I stopped noting it down to be honest. It’s still sluggish in open loop, so I’ll just have to keep it above 4K at all times. Chris it’s not an RX-8 s...

5 is washed and harnesses fitted. I tried to find a spare RX-8 shell to hide it under but sadly it was not to be? So you’ll just have to put up with it ruining the stand ;)

Re: Brix's R3. 'Blue Magic'

My best guess was a single coil failed, but it was a sudden and dramatic death, rather than a gradual decline. As soon as the car got hot, it just completely gave in.

Still, better than a bearing failure!

Incidentally John you need to change your signature ;)

Re: Danbass’ German sleeper

Wayne subframe tearing is a really common issue on them. Ours is an auto and a vert and they don’t seem as prone due to less torque and more bracing, but it was one of the first things I checked!

Re: Danbass’ German sleeper

I know what you mean tbh. The engine genuinely sounds great for a diesel, but only under heavy load. Cruising it’s just not very exciting. However, that being said, given that it’s primary purpose in my life is motorway cruising which is never, ever interesting, I don’t mind. I actually think it han...

E46? We have an E46 330Ci vert for Clara and aside from an exploding gearbox it’s been really nice. It’s like driving a business lounge

Danbass’ German sleeper

It’s been AGES since I’ve posted in here. Last time was the arrival of my Mazda6 in 2014. In December, however, the faithful blue beast, having done nearly 60,000 trouble free miles (and hauled a LOT of plasterboard) left my side. Requirements for the replacement were relatively simple: - must be an...

First time on track in the mx-5, I'd suggest it's quite likely! Not on semi slicks either :S

Re: JDM Castle Combe Japanese Car Show Saturday 10th June 2017

As disappointed as I am to do this, I'm going to have to pass up my track sessions. This is due to having to purchase my other half a new car which has subsequently sucked up my roll bar funds, and I'm fairly sure I need one. If anyone can confirm otherwise and I can run with the hard top, I will do...

Re: My first FB - Project "Passion"

Fair enough Malcolm, HML is a little challenging to use so it's highly likely I buggered up the filtering ;) it's not like playing with datasets is my job or anything

I'll take a deeper look at some point this eve and see what I come up with.

You can display the data by year of manufacture, FB was between 79-85 I think?

Re: My first FB - Project "Passion"

According to HowManyLeft, approx. 38 FB's currently on the road in the UK, and 190 odd declared off the road for whatever reason. That's assuming I'm reading the data correctly
