Re: Engine finally stripped down

I've got them them on the shelf Phil :) Shall I ship them up to Chris? Hang on to them John and no doubt our paths will cross at a meet or something saving the shipping, plus there is no rush, currently! Do you know about the potential South Wales meet in August, its on here somewhere! No worries C...

Re: Peripheral Porting

I think you'll need access to a mill, although an engineering shop will be able to help - here's an interesting post http://www.rotaryeng.net/Welded-steel-p-port.html

I'm not saying that will "just" work but if you try it I'd love to hear how it works out!

Re: Rescued: Nursing Tanza Back To Life

Damn, sorry to hear this Josh. That's exactly what happened to me mate, although mine didnt last as long as 1500 miles. Is there any chance that your locking tab was anything other than perfectly lined up when you pressed the bearing in? EDIT: because my one wasn't, the tab was at a slight angle and...

thanks for your responses chaps, i didn't realise about the thermostats. I got your list Carl but I had the impression it was a fair way off - I'll PM you in a mo :thumleft:

I saw Broomer's thread and how much trouble he went to getting them clean and still its difficult to tell if you got it all

Choosing Aftermarket Oil Coolers

I'm going to replace my oil coolers because I want to be sure there's no crap in them after the bearing failure - it was kind of on my "one day" upgrade list anyway so I've decided to bring it all forward just in case. Mishimoto have their Universal kits, available in 19 row, 25 row, and then dual p...

Well done fella, its a great feeling getting her started up for the first time :thumleft: I know what you mean about those hoses, how hard would it be for them to be numbered?! It must be that way to test us ;)

Is there an upper limit? Just wondering if we have to have a match between swaps and number of people, because I have some great xmas jumpers that are hardly used!

Re: John’s DIY engine rebuild, porting, and supercharger

Two weeks have gone by and I've broken & scrapped 2 cars as donors to the cause. It's been a really good learning experience and feels like it should have made me a lot fitter and I can now take an engine out in under 4 hours :thumleft: All I have to do now is figure out how to put them back togethe...

I'm not sure mind was that colour even after I'd cleaned it! Is that down to the oil you use or just how often you change it?

Re: John’s DIY engine rebuild, porting, and supercharger

I hope so, which really means that I haven't checked but will now :). Is there anything to look out for other than just general wear and tear, leaks, etc?

Those Mishi's do look nice mate, very shiny - they'll suit your engine bay a treat :)
