Re: Clive's 450 BHP Super GT RX-8 Race Car

Clive Great to see the progress the car is making and as you always advised me, as you develop one aspect, you will find it has a knock on effect to another. Remember I too had a rear wing break on the FD (a carbon blade) which broke at over 150mph. So that is clearly a limitation for regular wings....

Re: Wayne's Greddy Turbo winter project .

Hi, I've been reading this IC topic with interest and I agree with the advice you have been given. To add to it I can offer to you my experience (if it will help your decision making). My original FD set up produced 560bhp at 1.1 bar with water meth injection at 0.6bar through a large front mount IC...

Just to add my thanks to the organisers and to everyone who turned up to this event. Despite the weather everyone had happy smiling faces (well most of the time). Great day learning the traits of the RX8. Still need to be braver in the wet....or fit the appropriate tyres for the conditions. Will sig...

Re: Dern's projects

Really interesting read. We are following a similar route in modifying. You are braver than me removing all the heat proofing from the interior. These things get V hot on track.
Which gauges did you purchase ?
Thanks Chris

Re: Chris's Track Car

Took '8 for 4 wheel alignment yesterday. Two adjusters were seized solid, (even a bit of heat would not free them off). I'll start a long period of soaking with WD40. Anyone any other ideas ?
Thanks

Re: Chris's Track Car

Managed to find time to take the '8 out for a short test last evening. What a difference the decat and exhaust make. Much more responsive to throttle movements. Will need more seat time to really notice the suspension mods. So far I'm please with the results.

Re: Chris's Track Car

Has a very busy weekend working on the car, hopefully the pictures upload. In essence I've changed the dampers from stock with Ebach springs, to R3 dampers (thanks Big Pete) with the same Ebach springs. I changed the stock ARB's for Racing Beat ARB's front and rear and replaced all the drop links (l...

Chris's Track Car

Hi all, So I've moved from big power FD to RX8, (some of you may remember the bright yellow and black FD). Joined this club (also on MRC), read lots of threads to 'get up to speed' on the knowledge and I've asked a lot of newbie questions. Anyhoo on the RX8, It has a Hayward Bridge port engine which...

Hi Guys, I'll be interested in this. It would be my first time (in the '8). Just need some free time to start some of the modifications. I'll keep one eye on this thread and I'll book if I think I can make sufficient progress.
