Re: ***TRACKDAY, GOODWOOD, SATURDAY 31st AUGUST***

Like others have said, a great venue, great people to talk to, great track which I enjoyed but the restrictions on track were frustrating. It was neither OPL or proper sessions. I was luckier then some as I was the first on track and got back to join the back of the queue when some were still gettin...

Re: Actual hampshire meet. sun 5th may. (meonstoke)

Any other Hampshire meets going on? Hi, you are right in the middle of Wessex Car Club territory. The club was started by a number of RX 8 owners who were also members of the RXOC like I am. Membership of the Wessex Car Club is free, we get together for regular meets every month like Goodwood Break...

Re: Exhausts - done to death I know

I bought a CobraSport cat back for £350 in the new year. It has 4 inch tips and sounds good without being OTT. You might want to think about it.

Got the RX-8 back from the body shop after I damaged it on my last track day. All shiny and new now so polished the wheels and the exhaust tips to celebrate. :D

Re: Insurance Quotes

For years I stayed with the same insurance company with my car but then I had a couple of accidents, one my fault and a load of penalty points so my premium rocketed. Since then I have reviewed my policy in detail before renewal, in recent years with moneysupermarket.com. I change insurers every yea...

Swapped out the standard air filter for a K&N one. There is clearly a knack I am missing in getting the filter box out, it was more like a wrestling contest, it was the same last year. Glad i won't have to do that again for a while now. :D :D

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????

Got it serviced plus gearbox oil change, plus new plugs and leads plus Eibach pro+ springs fitted. Turns out one of the old plug leads was duff and the plugs were on theri last legs even though they were supposed to be only 18 months old. Car goes so much better now.

When I signed up and paid my money the blurb was saying this was an open pit lane. Is that the case cos I thouight it was sessions? Happy for it to be open pit though if that is the case. Can anyone confirm? :D

Re: ***TRACKDAY, GOODWOOD, SATURDAY 31st AUGUST***

With it being close to home so without the need to do an overnight hotel, or use lots of fuel getting there, I managed to persuade my beloved to buy me this for my Birthday. Happy days :D :D Thank you - there was sufficient early interest to get the date for this event sorted - Saturday, 31 August I...

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Wed, 20th Feb, Brands Hatch***

Well this was my first time out with the RX8OC on a track day and only my 4th track day in total, and a thoroughly enjoyable day it was. Like a lot people I struggled a bit in the wet and had a couple of twitchy moments, the 8 really isn't too good in the wet to be fair and my lines were all over th...

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Wed, 20th Feb, Brands Hatch***

Less than three weeks to go, so time to start thinking about garages . At Brands, we usually manage to share a garage between three cars, unless you are Pukka, who needs a full garage for three sets of tyres, a full pit crew plus tools, microwave, kettle, wife, enough food and drink for all; oh, not...

It takes all people to make a wordl and Nigel is one of them. Re: Trackday Helmet

If you want an SA2010 approved open faced helmet you can get them for about £110 from Hedtec. The real benefit for me is that their sizes go up to XXL which I need. Failing that you can get cheaper non SA2010 helmets from OMP which are to a good standard and less then £80. If you want to get somethi...

Re: Dealer Experience - whats yours like?

Can't decide about my Mazda dealer, perrys in Portsmouth. I have good and bad expereinces with them but I do think they understand the car pretty well. They recently replaced the diff under warranty and when i got the car back it was sweet as a nut. no issues with flooding or other silliness but you...

Re: Insurance Quotes

Personally I shop around and change every year now. I tend to use moneysupermarket to search. Everytime I renew I get a significant increase so I just change. Currently got a 2008 40th Anniversary RX8, 3 years NCD, No points anymore, fully comp £250 excess, 12000 miles etc etc. oh and it includes my...

Re: Coil Pack Mounting Bracket Mod

Just a little note of concern. Currently the bracket must dissipate away some heat from the coils and I seem to remember that the thermal conductivity of metal is better than that of the air, hence the use of heatsinks. If you cut a hole in the bracket don't you run the risk that at low airflows and...

What I found shocking is the labour rate, with vat this is £93.60 an hour! think im in the wrong job. Over the phone they tried to make me agree to a product called BIO-Clense or something? Never heard of it before but it goes into the fuel system and they wanted £25 for this but I said no. You kno...

Re: Custom Parrot Bluetooth Install

That looks like an impressive and very neat job. =D> For me I would want a display that was up somewhere near my eyeline rather where you have to look down while drivng the car but I recognise that is difficult with the RX8. As for disconnecting the heater switches, I can't say that I've ever switch...
