Sounds a little strange
Who did you message on the committee ?
It is possible to send a message to all committee members simultaneously.

Re: r3 what tyres, 235/40/19 or 245/40/19 plus brand?

That’s all perfectly true on the S-1 Matt when you change from 225x45x18 to 235x40x18
The OP has a R-3 so goes from 225x40x19 to 235x40x19 so increases the hight of the sidewall slightly.
Still the way to go though

Re: r3 what tyres, 235/40/19 or 245/40/19 plus brand?

Your logic is correct :thumleft: I have an S-1 not an R-3 so don’t know how the 245x40 fits in the arch However a discerning driver would feel the difference with the higher gearing slowing acceleration and vaguer turn in. I advise 235 as the best compromise for handling and straight line drag. Rega...

Re: r3 what tyres, 235/40/19 or 245/40/19 plus brand?

I don’t recommend the 35 profile to anyone in 18 or 19 wheels It’s important to have some movement and give in the tyre wall for handling and soaking up the potholes we have in GB The exception would be of course if you had ridiculously wide tyres like 300mm and then 35% would give you decent tyre w...

Guys,

I am about to board a plane for Germany so will be unavailable until tomorrow evening to sort this.
Wish me luck at Novitec.

Take care everyone.

Ranjan.
You don’t need luck , just money 😉

Re: Replacing the headliner.

The biggest problem is that the back is in a fixed position and very upright on bucket seats.
I have a pair in mine both on adjustable rails but I am going to change them for cloth seats and I’m not large or tall.

Pete

Re: Replacing the headliner.

Just how tall are you I would have to ask ? The cloth seats are the best option and I believe you can turn the seat rail over or something to get a little more clearance if I remember a thread correctly. You can lean the seat back as well Bucket seats tend to be difficult for large people and are ve...

Re: 4.77 Diff from R3

If this was in the members area I may be more forthcoming ;) The RX-8 is way faster than it feels I’ve never felt disadvantaged or compromised against any hot hatch, V-tech, 350 Z, etc, etc on or off track ( I did get slaughtered by a Nisan GTR on the start finish straight at Donington but it wasn’t...

Re: 4.77 Diff from R3

Hey guys, How much of a difference does install the R3 diff with shorter final drive make on a series 1 RX8? Is this a worthy mod, and how much would installation of cost parts and labor taken into account? Toby Hi again Toby, No it is not a worthy mod by any stretch of the imagination unless your ...

Re: Porting without affecting mpg-possible?

I was just about to say that porting won’t necessarily give you worse mpg. I then saw your post about the rebuild . Increased power can give you better mpg because you don’t have to use as much throttle . What makes the biggest difference is the actual rebuild rather than the porting However most pe...

Re: Rev Limit Raise

Hi Toby, It’s very easy to lift the Rev limit 300 Revs on the standard ecu just by changing the values. Listen to what 13 Black said though 😉 I had my rev limit increased after a rebuild because I wanted to try it and it gave me the option of holding a gear a touch longer if close to an approaching ...
