Re: Happy St. George’s Day

Over here in NI the whole subject of flaaags is highly provocative. But over in that neck of the woods, it don't take much excuse for a flag does it? :) Remember living in Wicklow towards the climax of the GAA season = at least 3 flags per house, as many as would fit in the garden and two per car, ...

Re: Happy St. George’s Day

Is it considered racist to celebrate St Georges day, or is it more of a case that there is a perception that there is attempt for all things St George to be appropriated by racists, and people to don't want to risk being associated? I would think it is better to drown those vile morons out with plen...

Re: JayEmm on Cars YT RX8 Review

Also some fair points. I think on reflection it very much depends on what prism you are viewing it through. I tried to watch it from the POV of one of his subscribers, who probably would never have been in the market for an 8 and so would have been unlikely to hunt out 8 content. Appreciate that loo...

Re: JayEmm on Cars YT RX8 Review

Whilst I don't really disagree with the points being raised, I can't help thinking that the criticism is a bit harsh. A little context: the RX8 is increasingly being bought by people who's budget extends to what they can get free with a meal deal at Tescos. One of the well known traders is getting o...

Re: GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

Yes, admitadly that is annoying. The insurance guys just calculate numbers based on risk and supposedly the stats show that someone who has been in an accident, irrespective of fault, is more likely to be involved in another within 12 months. Hopefully tho, there is some nuance to that so this kinda...

Re: GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

We could be accusing her of doing something wrong that isn't the case. Jeez Shaggy. What are the shareholders of FlaminTorches-R-Us and Pitchfork Depot going to make of suggestions like that? This appears to be a simple car park bump, albeit a pretty expensive one - they happen 100s of times a day ...

Re: GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

You guys are welcome to not mind anyone who damages your cars and just walk it off. Good on ya. Where did I say that? If she had done a runner, or was being uncooperative, then throw the book at her. But precisely the point is she is not doing that - she is trying to make what is a just a car park ...

Hang on a second, no one has even mentioned that she's an elderly lady and this could have done serious damage to her health or even worse. Are people serious on here telling Nigel to all but take her to the cleaners and pay for this, that and everything? Nigel there's nothing seriously wrong with ...

Howzabout a south / mid Wales driving day Stew, some great roads down your way.
Whilst it is a good idea, particularly with me at the helm, I am not sure the SX4 will make a great point car. Let me get the 8 back on the road before we worry about sprinting before we are toddling ;)

Nowt for this month, but hopefully back on track in March.

I don't see any need for embarrassment on either side if that's a concern. Things happen, they go wrong - even with the best of intentions. <Snip for brevity /> Really nice post Vian, that I wholeheartedly agree with all of. Re: piece of S*** wont start!

Mainly, fair play for the honest title. Have loved my 4 8's but that is exactly how I react at times like these. Know how you feel :( Can't add much to the above, as if the starter motor is turning the engine over, it implies either an ignition or fuelling problem I would guess. Slow starter motor c...

No need for it to be goodbye. Whilst we might point and laugh whilst they are not looking, we still talk to people who have moved onto something else.
