Re: Lenovo X270 Ultrabook Laptop x2

As the guy who was on the other side of the original sale can vouch for easy purchase and also that the laptop has been great. Easy Linux install for anyone that way inclined, and so far bulletproof, small, lightweight and pretty powerful. Also upgraded to the high capacity battery which gives a lon...

No need for it to be goodbye. Whilst we might point and laugh whilst they are not looking, we still talk to people who have moved onto something else.

Good luck with whatever you decide to move to next. :)

Hi,

I have pushed the necessary buttons so the forum bit of your membership activation is done. Alan will need to do the rest on his return, primarily sending out your welcome pack.

Welcome along! :thumleft:

Re: Forum Issues 19/08/19

Aha - just had a text from John confirming he has got to the bottom of the issues. The way DNS caching works, some people may continue to see issues for a little while, but it should gradually get back to normal. :thumleft:

Forum Issues 19/08/19

A number of people are experiencing issues connecting to the forum. We are aware and are attempting to resolve. The root issue appears to be DNS related and will, eventually, effect everybody. If you are comfortable making changes to you PC, a temporary workaround will be to add: 52.18.114.179 www.r...

Re: No longer a member, but still about.

Hey Dan, Genuinely, thanks for your post (sorry, somewhat late to the 'leaving, not leaving' party here). It is clear that you care about the club, both from the input you have given to it over the time you have been a member, but also in taking the time out to write and reply to this thread in a po...

Discs don’t tend to warp actually, you probably have run in on the surface (pad material) which can come from hard use or binding. ^ This. Stewart I’m down to one 8 now and have all ready fitted my set. Your sets are put away safe until we next meet up, unless you want them earlier I’ll drop them down to you.
Nah it is all good :D No rush and if worst comes to the worst I will drop round. Not gonna drag you down here.

Re: leave RX-8 sitting for 3 months...advice?

When I bought the current 8 I switched the insurance from the old one. There was still several months tax on the old one. My plan was to leave it like that and then take out short term cover to deal with any outings when selling it (Sky were doing some deal). A couple of weeks later I got a letter f...

Nah you don't. Pretty sure the law is for a single vest (i.e. for the driver to wear should they need to get out of the car on the hard shoulder - hence it needs to be in the car, rather than the boot), but it is recommended that all occupants have one, given the advice is that everyone decamps if y...

Re: Driving Abroad

I don't believe you do need the breathalyser in France any more, but you do still need to be able to fix lights issues on the spot, so take spare bulbs. As mentioned high viz inside the car is a requirement. To drive on the motorways in Austria you need a vignette. The route we took had a service st...
