Re: Clive's 450 BHP Super GT RX-8 Race Car

Beautifully edited video! More excitement in that than the whole of last season's F1 :-)

Honda Jazz driveline noise

I'm trying to diagnose a noise in a friend's 2007 Honda Jazz: 2007 1.4 petrol Honda Jazz, manual 5 speed. Makes rattling/whirring noise when accelerating/decelerating in 1st and 2nd. Worse in 1st. Same regardless of steering. Same hot and cold. No noise spinning wheels or running jacked up. Inner dr...

Re: Speed-sensitive windscreen wiper upgrade

Great work! I did once have a car on hire with speed-variable wipers and it worked really well.

What a ludicrous price!

I don't need one but I know someone who'd like one for Christmas :-)

Re: Matts Rexi engine Rebuild

There have been a few people on here who've had engines really difficult to start fresh from a rebuild. It is basically down to the low compression until the seals bed in. However, there are of course other things that could cause this or make it worse. As you've definitely got a crank sensor issue ...

What's all the talk of going to court? Surely if you plead guilty it won't need to?

Re: Replace / upgrade your S1 fuel pump - DIY

Hi, think I've got the symptoms a failing fuel pump as the car once warm doesn't accelerate past 8k and after running on the motorway for prolonged periods of time then driving on normal roads stutters when pulling away sounding the rev limiter but at around 4k. I've got newish coils, plugs, leads ...

Sandblaster for £64.00 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261331219412 Happy Christmas to me :) That's the one I have. Turned out I needed to upgrade my compressor. Also it has a very poor hopper design; it slopes from the back and the front but not the sides and the media simply sits along the bottom and d...

There is some current discussion on about this event on a facebook group right now. Opentrack are basically saying it was entirely their fault and are not blaming anyone other than themselves.

Which bits? From what I've read of the event and feedback on the organiser's other events it doesn't smell too fishy to me. What do you think the rel problem was Pete? Just too many cars on the day?

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Silverstone GP, Sun 20th Nov, £199***

So 3 drivers sent home after just the sighting laps! Wow. Some of the videos I have seen show cars being driven as though they were in a race (e.g. overtaking on the apex.) With the combination of conditions and driving standards I'm not surprised there were so many incidents. At least Opentrack see...

Talk about dedication Clive! I'm sure many would have sold it on by now; you know the ones on eBay "Almost completed project but I've run out of time. Just needs minor mapping changes."

Good luck for the track session.

Re: Replace / upgrade your S1 fuel pump - DIY

Thanks for that Phil, that is how I thought it must work from when I examined it; I could never understand how it was supposed to be a "pop off" valve but I just assumed what I read was true (think it originated from across the pond). Still not sure why I would have had a problem with an uprated pum...

Re: Replace / upgrade your S1 fuel pump - DIY

This explanation doesn't fit with my symptoms: 1. Experienced fuel cut once on fast left hander at Snetterton. 2. Assumed pump was on its way out so fitted an uprated pump. 3. OK for a day then couldn't rev over about 5k with anything but gentle throttle. (Some will remember me trying to find the ca...

Re: Air curtain / water removal

My neighbour uses the noisiest power tool on the planet to dry his motorbike. Looks like a small leaf blower. Would probably do a car quite well too. Otherwise if money was no object the air curtain from a car wash would do. Not sure where all the water would end up though; I think you'd want it a f...
