Re: Stabiliser (drop) link change - 'take no prisoners!' method

That is what happened on this occasion the bottom nut came off without putting up a fight but the top nut I got it to about 3 mm from the end of the thread then it just wouldn`t move without turning the whole joint even with 2 pair of moles on it so the angle grinder came out to be honest it would h...

Re: Stabiliser (drop) link change - 'take no prisoners!' method

I merged my post into Phil`s topic. To be honest soaking with penetrating oil etc I could only move the top ball joint nut so far by clamping the ball of the joint with Moles it was solid with rust so I ended up cutting it off but as I have already explained pack the top nut with washers and it sho...

Replacing Drop Links

Having found myself having to replace the front N/S Drop Link although my car is only on 30K miles (the O/S broke a few years back) I don`t know about anyone else but I find the lower joint is easy with the nut coming off easily but the top is always difficult because the lower joint bolts through a...

I did this and tried one with a frog in it but it was too light and jumped off, better to use a denser engineering brick. :-k :thumleft:

Re: Bleeding brakes etc

The RX8 cap design is not catered for in that Ezeebleed kit. Personally I use a home made one man bleeder made from a coke bottle and a length of clear tube sealed at one end and with a 45’ cut to make the none return valve. I use my Ezeebleed kit I bought a cap from an eBay breakers then just dril...

Re: Potential new recall for S1 owners

How would I know of my car has had any previous recalls done ? Any way of finding out ? How do the recalls work do you get contacted ? Normally when a recall/service campaign is started the current owner should receive notification through the post from Mazda if the owner at that time doesn`t compl...

IIRC the designation of ABC for coils doesn't necessarily mean differing quality It can be down to change of manufacturer etc

Re: Turbo charging yes or no

The advances in turbo technology, material and electronic control do actually make turbo RX8 a viable proposition as a daily or frequent weekend car. RRP are in the advanced states of developing their turbo kit which is being aimed at being “driveable” rather than a Max power beast. So as I see it ...

Re: Turbo charging yes or no

Surely for anyone considering Turbo charging the 1st and main consideration would be reliability if I am going to pay out several thousand £s then I want to be confident that an engine rebuild is not going to be part of the conversion a short time/mileage down the road as that initial conversion cos...

I would suggest talking to Aston at Essex Rotary, as he has successfully Turbo'ed his Red RX-8 =D> Otherwise over the years only know of two other RX-8 Turbo's within this club =D> 1) Alli White (TW Whites) 2) Tekken Both these cars were brand new at the time 8) Ah! Re: Turbo charging yes or no

30k do you ever drive it Del Well yes I do but apparently only 2,300 miles pa the trouble is my Skoda Karoq gets most of the annual mileage with the Porsche & RX-8 the remainder although the Porsche needs to go as I don`t really need 3 cars anymore. Besides its white and it keeps getting dirty!...

I am aware of the Turbo kit Carl is developing but not wishing to clutter up his ongoing reports on his progress has anyone unless I missed it actually in recent times successfully Turbo charged their RX-8, after 13 years ownership with my 40th but only 30k miles I am considering it but only if it i...

First of all start off as you mean to go on its "Wankel" and secondly there should be a special edition build number on the sill kick plates we record the number in a register so let us know what it is.

Allow me: Re: Worcester Dealer (Edwards) Post by Delanor » 18 Jul 2018, 13:35 Another extremely poor Mazda dealer - my RX-8 was booked in for a serious recall (fuel pump fire risk) a friend followed me in his car to this dealer (a 10 mile trip) and I left my car with them, two and a half hours later...

Re: Blue Beast = New Tesla Model 3 DM AWD LR 84KW 1sp Auto = 11/05/21 - Present / Chat

How do these ignorant sales people keep their jobs! In deed - I was contemplating a Seat Ateca Cupra and a local Seat dealer had one just what I wanted it was a 21 plate with 1300 miles but a saving on brand new so I made an enquiry and the salesman told me it was being used by their Sales Manager ...

Re: GRRC Thank Frankel it's Friday - RX8 article

An interesting article but firstly all RX-8`s are not born equal its slightly skewed by using a 40th Anniversary model I will wager not that many about in excellent condition with a full service history, and I slightly disagree with avoiding a car with a low compression engine, if the rest of the ca...

The tank is not repairable so If you wish to replace it that will cost anything from £110+ for a pattern part to £180+ for a Mazda part.
