Re: Daily driver or second car?

I bought my first RX-8 in 2004 and my present one new 16 years ago it sits in the garage and is taken out occasionally to remind me how good it is, on the last MOT the examiner at first told me it had failed as "you are not driving it enough" besides that if I do drive it then it will just...

Re: Bright headlights!

I have decided this problem with bright headlights is just a jealously thing, there I was driving along a local pitch black country lane and a car came towards me with one headlight that looked like it was one candle power, then the driver decided my Cupra Matrix headlights on dipped beam were far t...

Even if you don`t fancy helicoiling it is possible to repair the head or change it if that is all the problem is. :-k

Re: EV the future ?

The first thing that decides if I am going to consider buying a car is how its looks appeal to me and on that basis I struggle with EV`s -

The Tesla Model Y - £46,990 - £59,990. :puke:

Scott at RRP explained to me that it was all about the flash point and that the magnatec A5 catered for that with no problems. He said that a 10w40 oil does not.

That is a bit of a can of worms you have opened there. :-k

Re: S1 v R3 reliability

The same for me but I do only drive it on dry, salt free winter days! And having owned 4 now admittedly all have been low mileage and the only fault I have had is on the 40th when the passenger door lock wasn`t working which appeared to be a manufacturing defect due to a slight case of over greasing...

Re: S1 v R3 reliability

All a matter of choice but I must admit at the time when I decided to change my RX-8 a Strato Blue 230 bhp I Iooked at an R3 and I thought it looked awesome in "Sparkling Black" but a local dealer had a 40th Anniversary which I also thought looked awesome in Crystal White, anyway I booked ...

Re: EV the future ?

They put Emergency mobile charging stations along the evacuation route. Basically huge diesel generators on flatbed trucks. When your life and your families lives could be at risk its bad enough having to stop for "Gas" but I don`t think having to join a queue for possibly a couple of hou...

Re: Coolant

It is not advisable to mix different types of coolant as you do not know if they are compatible, FL22 is the recommended coolant it does an important job in caring for the engine used in its undiluted form, by mixing how do you know that the existing coolant is not diluting the FL22, do you even kno...

It is an extreme case for most nations but not in America, with the need to evacuate your home and millions affected with power cuts it can`t be a good time to own an EV can it! :-k

Well its not a PZ so the spoiler may have just been glued on - me thinks it needs some screws as well if it hasn`t got any, you really wouldn`t want to be following at 70 mph if it came off! :-k

If the nuts are OE they are McGard you can get a key from them on their website under replacement keys or by emailing a photo of the existing nuts or you can buy a set of locking wheel nut removal sockets they will remove them but then obviously you will need a new set, the chances of finding someon...

If they replace the VED with a mileage charge :yeah: in the budget then you should be better off, unless of course they introduce a mileage charge and keep the VED rates! who knows!

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase

Just my opinion but why would you fit cheap tyres on your "pride and joy" unless you are running the car on a low budget - when I look at a car for sale tyre brand is a dead giveaway to me, I only did it once I bought an Mk1 MX5 with "Sunny" tyres, I soon found out in the wet the...

at the £80-100 mark you can probably get real carbon caps made or bought from somewhere like Ali Express. I bought some real CF caps for stock 8 mirrors for like £50... For some reason Cupra Formentor carbon fibre caps are few and far between and expensive, Ali Express don`t do them they do Seat bu...

Re: Carbon Fibre wrapping

:bump: In my defence Mark I had a rethink the mirrors are all black and I decided not wrap all of the mirror due to the complex shape but do a part body paint colour with a copper stripe (part of Cupras design element) and then carbon fibre the rest - paint and clear coat complete now, copper strip...
