Re: Spoiler loose

Well its not a PZ so the spoiler may have just been glued on - me thinks it needs some screws as well if it hasn`t got any, you really wouldn`t want to be following at 70 mph if it came off! :-k

Re: Locking wheel nut key

If the nuts are OE they are McGard you can get a key from them on their website under replacement keys or by emailing a photo of the existing nuts or you can buy a set of locking wheel nut removal sockets they will remove them but then obviously you will need a new set, the chances of finding someon...

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase

If they replace the VED with a mileage charge :yeah: in the budget then you should be better off, unless of course they introduce a mileage charge and keep the VED rates! who knows!

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase

Just my opinion but why would you fit cheap tyres on your "pride and joy" unless you are running the car on a low budget - when I look at a car for sale tyre brand is a dead giveaway to me, I only did it once I bought an Mk1 MX5 with "Sunny" tyres, I soon found out in the wet the...

Re: Carbon Fibre wrapping

at the £80-100 mark you can probably get real carbon caps made or bought from somewhere like Ali Express. I bought some real CF caps for stock 8 mirrors for like £50... For some reason Cupra Formentor carbon fibre caps are few and far between and expensive, Ali Express don`t do them they do Seat bu...

Re: Carbon Fibre wrapping

:bump: In my defence Mark I had a rethink the mirrors are all black and I decided not wrap all of the mirror due to the complex shape but do a part body paint colour with a copper stripe (part of Cupras design element) and then carbon fibre the rest - paint and clear coat complete now, copper strip...

Re: New on here, advice sought re specific purchase

:welcome: Did you consult the "Buyers Guide" - some peoples suggestion of a "pride and joy ownership" in my experience is an attempt to make the car look like it has been well maintained and judging by your list of potential downs to be honest that to me appears to be the case wi...

What surprises me, given how long the OC has existed and who large our membership is, is this is the first stolen car to be notified here - at least in my memory. :paranoid:  Never fear Ann I remember you reporting your experience of RX-8 theft, they broke into your house if I recall corr...

Convert upper brake lamp

As I already have an LED upper brake lamp I decided to convert the OE bulb lamp to LED as a spare as the aftermarket LED lamps seem to be unavailable now. Its easy enough to take the OE lamp apart and the LED circuit board is stuck inside the lense using double sided tape the LED circuit then just p...

Re: Specialists near Coventry

What could be confusing about leading and trailing spark plugs where the plugs and their locations are marked T & L respectively which also of course is T for Top and L for lower. After that conundrum everything else is the same as on any other car. Well actually Johnsons Mazda put new plugs in...

Re: Mazda commitment to IC and rotary

With battery cars expected to be the norm` in the not too distant future it still fascinates me how this sits with the various manufacturers, when you consider all the different developments/designs of Petrol and Diesel engines are we really suppose to believe it will all end up with just an electri...

Re: Considering selling R3, how much is it worth?

It's the same for RX-7's. Several cars on the market which would have easily sold at the asking price a year ago, simply are not shifting. Is this symptomatic of the wider used car market at present? Presumably dealers are waiting for the overwhelming mad rush of customers for those new fangled car...

Re: Skoda build quality

I agree with your comment on the Mazda`s but I would go further and say if you intend to keep an RX-8 don`t expose it to a salty climate, don`t drive on salted roads, don`t drive on wet roads, don`t let it get wet, keep it garaged and only drive it preferably on warmer, dry days. 8) So basically fol...

Re: Carbon Fibre wrapping

Still WIP I`m afraid Mark, I have bought 2 new mirror caps not wanting to wreck the originals and I made an attempt myself but the caps are a difficult shape to wrap in one piece now I am advised to do it in 3 pieces split with a Cupra Copper stripe or just do half of the cap in 2 pieces - not given...

Well the ongoing saga of changing the look of a pair of mirrors is not going according to plan, after resorting to plan B of carbon fibre covers that has failed as no stock now and its taken them over 2 weeks to decide that, so have decided to resurrect plan A wrapping them myself, it can`t be that ...

The Highway Code and the Green Cross Code especially for children does mention that listening for oncoming vehicles is advisable before attempting to cross the road I should imagine that judging the speed of an EV is more difficult without any noise. Perhaps they are both in need of revision on the ...

Amazing - a report from some experts somewhere or other has been number crunching accident statistics and they have decided that there is increasing numbers of pedestrians that are being hit by cars and electric cars are possibly being found to be more of a cause than fossil fueled cars or even hybr...
