Re: RX8 Evolve

Yes it would de-value the car, but it's easily rectified when it's time to sell on with a wheel refurb and oem badges. In the meantime have it how you want it. Current values are in the toilet, future values may make the toilet seat at some point but don't hold your breath. The Green lobby will win ...

^^ that was me^^
Why do you want an Auto?
..the 4 gears are very long (2nd gear goes up to 84mph on limited revs) and the gearbox drains a lot of power (about 15%).

Solved it!
It's the piece of resistance. Once removed it unlocks an extra 50hp and takes mpg up to manufacturer's official figures. :-k

It's true dat.

Re: Pettit Supercharger kit for sale

...if only they fitted a 4 port 192 #-o It should fit a 4-port 192 and there's a good argument that a 4-port is a better basis for FI than the 6-port. The power curve for a supercharged Renesis would also work better with the 192 5-speed gearbox, as it's all about mid-range grunt rather than maximu...

Re: Positive experience with Mazda UK, yes really!

Mazda UK let down by shoddy dealer (as usual). Car went in for the recalls last Thursday. (Airbags and fuel tank seal) Service desk told - don't touch anything else, do not update software, just the recalls nothing else. Yes sir, no problem. Pick up car, idle seems lower than it was. The gits, I tho...

Re: Positive experience with Mazda UK, yes really!

So, having been booked in for recalls in February, it was cancelled due to lack of parts.
Finally booked in again next week. S'pose 3 months isn't too bad for a Mazda Dealer........

Proved the car's practicality again.
Took my lad and brother to play golf. So that's 3 sets of golf clubs and 2 golf trolleys in the boot. Two adults and a 10 yr old inside easily, legroom to spare and an unused spare seat.
(I lost.)

Although I have a 6 speed box, it's a 192 4 port engine, so the beep is set at lower revs ;)

Re: Auto to Manual swap

Quick update post Castle Combe track day. Oil temps got to 110 after about 10 mins, but the single oil cooler coped ok with a cool down lap, getting it back down to 95 within half a lap. Just need to give it a chance to catch up. Start of the beep in 4th was 108mph so 5th never required. Gearbox goo...

^^ yep, I only did 3-4 laps in the afternoon, the long line of gearbox oil put me off, simply no longer worth the risk for me^^ Good to see me get overtaken in pretty much all the videos though. Re: Car Throttle 'Living with a rotary' - Any Questions or requests?

Appears to me (inspector Clouseau mode) that the economy run was done before the Pettit exhaust was put on as the old exhaust is on the car. I.e. this was the rebuild run in period, get the 1000 miles out of the way run. Subsequently we know the SSV solenoid packed up. Any other supporting evidence ...
