Re: the next RX-?
Read a similar article earlier in the week. If they were going to do anything, I would expect two different models based on the same platform like they did with the RX-8 and NC MX-5. The only way they can do it is by minimising the development costs, by splitting across multiple models or finding a partner like they did with the Fiat MX-5 or like Toyota with the gt86/BRZ and Supra/Z4.qwakers wrote:wonder if there is any truth in this?

A hybrid RX coupe taking inspiration from the Iconic SP concept would be the likely outcome I imagine if they were to actually go through with it.

Re: the next RX-?
If they were to do it I think the combustion engine would still be coupled to the gearbox via the electric motor, as this tweak on the RX 30 install allowed them to essentially give variable valve timing and a decent boost in efficiency
that coupled with the direct injection that motor has should be enough to lift the fuel economy into the 21st century
as to how it should look then just make the RX9 concept of a few years ago ( see my avatar icon) arguably 1 of the most beautiful concepts ever produced
